The neighbor across the street just put in a stock tank pool he got at Tractor Supply. He painted the outside dark brown, drilled holes for a pump and landscaped around it. He said his wife and he will use it for a dipping pool and to just hang out in on hot evenings. I've never heard of doing this and think it's pretty trashy.

He probably doesn't care if you think its trashy

You live in the south, yeah?

It gets so hot where I live, I’m ready to turn the water hose on myself. I could go old school like football players and fill up a trash can with ice water and hop in.

But seriously, if it’s landscaped well, who cares?

this is the rare case of something on this website accurately being described as trashy. Above ground pools are cheap as frick too

I don’t have an opinion about its trashiness, but it seems like it would be boiling hot.

Less trashy than Owlie's last birthday party.

Friends of ours did this, pump/filter and all. Landscaped around it and actually looks nice. They'll have a drink in it in the evening out get in after yard work.

This is for the fancy trailers with the skirt around the bottom hiding the wheels and the wooden deck out back.

only can think of this:

quote:

Take me to an old stock tank,
or the Devil’s river bank,
that fishing hole that stirs my memories.
Take me to a cold deer stand
or shooting guns at old beer cans.
You won’t find street signs where I wanna be.
I wouldn’t give a nickel to have it paved in gold.
Everything I love is at the end of a dirt road.

Oh there was a thread on here about how you did you know you were poor forgot all about swimming in one at my cousins house one summer. It was actually a great pool that we could not break.

We totally had one on the farm when I grew up. Elementary school size me and my brother thought it was awesome.

Pump and landscaping?

We all learned to swim in a stock tank.

Every once in a while you put the hose back in to freshen up the water.
