WWL
Good for them. Enough hideous tract houses have been shoved along 190 up there.
The question is will this stay or will the council be greased enough to override him?
Also, I, for the life of me, cannot understand why everyone is moving to St Tammany. I have been to Covington maybe twice in my life and see no reason to go back. Who wants to cross the causeway daily at 6 bucks a pop? I’ll take the South Shore any day of the week

Trying to read a story on WWL-TV’s website gives your phone COVID-26 AIDS Cancer.

Every one of the TV station's websites are like that.
Half-wits are in charge.

For starters, I don't have to lock my truck or worry about it being stolen from my driveway every night. Don't see many carjackings or stray bullets on this side of the lake either.

Imagine just never crossing the causeway and staying on the Northshore, it’s a great life.

Moved to this area 10 years ago and I will tell you it has changed big time, traffic is bad, roads are falling apart, water service is a joke.

I heard yesterday that there is now going to be a study performed to improve traffic in the area around the new Trader Joe’s. Shouldn’t this have been done before? What a mess

Typical, reactive Louisiana. Not a proactive thought goes on about infrastructure. Overcrowd the frick out of an area and THEN start a series of "studies" on how to improve things. 10 years later, still, nothing is done.

Bitching after only being here 10 years is comical. You don’t want to hear my thoughts then, it was better before you moved
Also the Causeway is a $6 barrier worth having

There’s a saying that in the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.
Well, in LA, an area without property crime and semi decent schools is well sought after. In most parts of the country, it would be normal. In Louisiana, it isn’t.

Quality of life in Louisiana would improve dramatically if there were greater focus and investment in our infrastructure. This is throughout Louisiana, not just the Northshore.

Yep, St. Tammany is sleazy in other ways that don't really affect public safety.

I really wish more people had this attitude. Thank you sir. We need more southshore people hating the NS. When southshore people like the NS, we get these bullshite subdivisions and cries for more "affordable housing" and all the blessings that come with it.

The toll booth should be on the southshore. Itd help more.

He is correct in vetoing this. The amount of traffic from 4 to 6pm in that area is unreal. The last thing that area needs is more cheap housing causing more traffic. These developments need to start moving east and stop overloading the Goodbee area.

A zero lot line cookie cutter house is still a major step up for a lot of people. The North Shore is being ruined from the perspective of someone who's lived there 20 years. To a newcomer it still looks like easy country livin'.
