It’s gotten big enough up there that many don’t have to anymore. Census bureau made it its own metro area recently. Not enough people are commuting south anymore for it to be considered part of the New Orleans metro by the more official definitions.

While I am not arguing for or against any side of this. I do know that the drainage requirements for new developments within the parish are relatively aggressive compared to neighboring parishes. The biggest one being the reduction in stormwater runoff from pre-developed state to the post developed state of the property. This typically includes a detention pond that will collect/hold rain water and slowly release it at a desired flow rate that is less than the pre-developed site runoff flow rate. So "in theory", these new developments "should" improve the drainage in their respective drainage basins. Are these developments always built to spec? no. That's why I say "in theory".

A drive through Covington will show you its sorta looking dumpy in places. Plenty of Nissans and Kias. St Tammany should be very proud.

Demographic have definitely shifted there. If I lived in the North Shore, my kids would be going to Catholic school elementary school and then St Paul’s.

I agree with everything except for the Bogalusa part, Franklinton has two Mexican restaurants that are better than what Marias is currently, not what it was 20 years ago. There’s only so much land once you cross that lake, and it’s just a matter of time before that enters Washington Parish. I’m 45 and God willing I make it another 40 years Washington Parish will look completely different than it did in 1980.

Damn, you must really hate Judge Tanner if you had to list it twice.
That light and the stop sign where it meets 190 does kind of suck, but it's not the worst thing traffic wise.
59 belongs on this list before half these roads.
