Do you...think people who live on the northshore cross the causeway daily? lol

For now. But good for him. St Tammany doesn’t need more housing. I’m sure the fight isn’t over though.

Keep bragging about your public schools and middle class mansions and watch how quickly your attitude changes.

My brother is moving back to the southshore from Covington. He’s at the point where he’s going to pay for private school either way now.

Sterile dump of $ centric people that only care about themselves.

Higher property taxes than NOLA.

BUT safe - that grandma going 22 in a 20 School Zone better watch out. She will get pulled over by 2 Mandeville Cop cars and harassed for 30 minutes. Would love to see those Fat Slobs working in Orleans.

Glad to see more & more residents pushing back on these developments.

Similar thing is happening with a planned development in Ascension Parish, except the council keeps kicking the can down the road hoping residents will give up. Jokes on them, because I don’t think those people are.

Also, I, for the life of me, cannot understand why everyone is moving to St Tammany. I have been to Covington maybe twice in my life and see no reason to go back. Who wants to cross the causeway daily at 6 bucks a pop? I’ll take the South Shore any day of the week

This just shows how stupid you are.

If you are someone that crosses daily, get a toll tag. It is cheaper.

Yep. Been here since the 80s. I do miss it pre 2000 and 2005.

A zero lot line cookie cutter house is still a major step up for a lot of people. The North Shore is being ruined from the perspective of someone who's lived there 20 years. To a newcomer it still looks like easy country livin'.

i've lived there for 7 years and it has been a noticeable decline even in that short period. i need to get about five or six more good years out of the area before i split. hopefully it lasts that long.

Franco's selling out to quasi-GloboGym and opening up the doors to everyone in NOLA and Slidell is the latest gut punch.

sounds like you've been to Broussard.

Who should they care about?

Yeah, this didn't happen.

Wait, sorry, it definitely happened. Run to the southshore, now!

How much do you think each council member is paid by the developers?

Moved to this area 10 years ago and I will tell you it has changed big time, traffic is bad, roads are falling apart, water service is a joke.

I'm currently waiting on "southern washington parish is the place to be, especially with hwy 3241. 4 lanes straight to the interstate. You can be at St Tammany hospital in 25 minutes. Mandeville in 30. Taxes are cheap. Bogalusa has this great Mexican place called Marias. I rarely even smell the papermill, not sure what the big fuss is. Kids can still go to St Tammany schools. It's quiet up this way".

Good, too much congestion, flooding etc. Infrastructure needs to catch up before approving more growth ! Majority of Council is only interested in tax revenue and money in their pockets.

The rest of the country does not reject development

But the rest of the country has government that ensures the infrastructure is there or will be put in by the developer.
