Lots of questions to be answered. Was the sheriff’s office called for the assault? Surely Keith Young’s called law enforcement for the disturbance? Did deputies respond? Who where the deputies? Why wasn’t Randy Smith arrested on the spot? Did Randy drive away himself? Did anyone get pics of Randy driving away? Did deputies arrive and not do anything and let Randy drive away? DWI?

Would Keith Young’s fall inside of Madisonville PD jurisdiction? I don’t think the sheriff’s deputies would be allowed to handle this. Would it be MPD or the Louisiana State Police?

Keith Youngs has Cameras in the bar area for sure.
There is a police station less the 5min away.

St. Tammany has had its run of poor everything. It’s such a shame. They have ruined a once great place and I don’t understand why they think it’s ok and keep on going with the building. Even the public schools are trash and the parish has become a glorified south shore. Washington Parish may escape the ruin since it is a little far out for most to want to commute to the south shore and old people need to be closer to a good medical system. Who knows, though.

The victim Bobby Couvvillion says he has several lacerations and contusions throughout his body.
The Covington resident says he was at Keith Young's restaurant in Madisonville to celebrate his birthday when the incident allegedly happened.
He claims the sheriff surprised him from behind with a chokehold and started punching and kicking him. He was taken to a hospital Friday night to be treated.
Couvillion is a longtime critic of the Sheriff.
On his podcast and online posts he has frequently accused the sheriff of being corrupt and a drunk, claims that have been unsubstantiated.
While there have been verbal jabs in the past, Couvillion he claims he did not provoke the physical attack on Friday.

100% it can be both. There can be incidents that were covered up and incidents that were known. Accusations were out there against him and no gave them credit because the other stuff was covered up.

I lived in st tammany for 20 years. I had no idea jack strain was a pedophile. It was not common knowledge nor was it even a rumor among the general public. If it had been he’d have been arrested long before he was. So yes it was enabled and covered up but you can’t then blame the voters for reelecting him

Southeastern WP is going to get some traction from folks that want the lower taxes, and the commute is getting much easier with HWY 3241 finally being built. I suspect some industry will come calling soon too. It's dirt cheap to live there, you can be at a St Tammany school in 15 minutes, and STPH in 30. The realtors are telling me that the white women "can't have a Bogalusa address", but I suspect that there are plenty of people that will get over it. I have a camp in that area. I can get a Walmart or Costco delivery there and never have to go into town. When I stay there I do like going to the Club Car lounge for a few drinks in the afternoon, then hitting Maria's for dinner.
