Double digit pre-boards on every SW flight is a massive exaggeration but even if it was true, what difference does that make to you?
Maybe not double digits every time, but over the past 3-4yrs it has gotten exponentially worse. What used to be 2-4 pre boards is now guaranteed to be 8-10.
No reason to have status with them when you end up boarding 25-30 when there are nearly 10 pre boards on every flight then the "business select customers"
Whats funny is how all these people have to pre-board with SW, but fly any other airline and there are almost never more than 2 pre-boarders.

A few weeks after Ida, we had to fly to Seattle for a wedding. My southwest flights too and from got cancelled because they said New Orleans has a curfew so they couldn't fly that far and take off at certain times. 3 different agents told me the pilots and workers had to be off work at 5pm to meet curfew. I told them I was looking at the lights coming in and out of the airport and all other airlines had flights coming in and out throughout the entire afternoon and night time And they are just using curfew as an excuse. The last agent I spoke to while trying and find a way to Seattle and from Spokane had me flying into four cities up to get up there and simply flying from Spokane to Vegas and leaving me there. I told her it was bullshite and she immediately said all of my flights have been refunded in using my fast boarding thing and should be back on my credit card in 5-7 business days and practically hung up on me. She said her "thanks for choosing southwest" spill and have a nice day, then hung up. Called back to talk to a higher up and they were at least nicer. Advised me they were having staffing issues and suggested switching to another airline to fly out because they won't be able get me to Seattle within a day.

At least 2 roundtrips a month, for years, and the above is absolutely true

The SWA airline gate agents call this the "Southwest miracle".... while United agents refer to them as "jetway Jesus" touched another one

ETA: Perhaps it would be more accurate to say wheelchair passengers and their guests.
Don't forget everyone with child and their entire families.
I changed jobs last January and the preferred airline moved from SW to AA and its an exponentially better experience on AA.
SW is pretty much at cost parity most of the time these days unless you're 120 days out and flying to some random, no demand location.

It has gotten worse, but it’s also route and day of travel dependent. I will never fly SW to or from Orlando. It’s rare I fly them to begin with though.

Son's orignal flight to MSY was canceled on Friday (on Wednesday), rebooked for later that afternoon. Kept getting delayed to the point of almost canceled. Arrived at MSY at 1am with no bag in sight. Waited an hour at a baggage to be told its still in Chicago. Went to MSY yesterday, hundreds upon hundreds of lost bags all over the place. What a cluster. Still no bag for him. I am divorcing SW after this trip. I have been A plus for 15 years- done with their archaic lack of technology systems.

My flights on Thursday night have already been cancelled. Must be that winter storm that happened a week ago

There’s maybe 3-4 people on a flight in wheelchairs that board first most of the time. Some of the shite that some of you people let bother you is mind numbing.
Southwest consists of “everyone line up and get on the plane so we can get out of here!” It’s not rocket science. Everyone is getting on and going to the same place. As long as I’m not in a middle seat between two crying children, I dont care where I sit on a plane. It’s going to the same place as everyone else.

Honest question.
Can she not catch a flight on a different airline vs driving 1200 miles?
I am of the understanding that if she went with another airline especially in this situation, the cost of the tickets would be astronomical?
She priced United and it was going to be $1200 a ticket with no guarantee it wouldn’t also be delayed and the flight wasn’t for another two days.
She was in Denver with her two boys (I believe 10 and 12).

So let’s say someone had something booked for the next week like a cruise or a rental property that they now can’t use because it could take days to get there.
Do they get any legal recourse because of Southwest’s frick up?

That isn’t remotely close to true, FWIW. Especially when considering they are allowed to bring someone with them, even if they’re able to walk down the jet bridge without assistance.

Extended family member went to go visit some inlaws in West Texas and cannot get a flight back, so had to miss work today, and start driving this morning 15 hours back here. Ouch.

Stuck in Chicago. No flights, no rental cars, no trains, even Greyhound is sold out. Stuck here
