I took a class about Public Private Partnerships in grad school. One of my research papers was on state owned airlines.

Basically, they only got worse and never profitable.

While I don’t know your politics from this true statement you made, it only makes sense.

What’s also is true is you can replace “mega corporations” with medium-sized businesses and it’s still a true statement.

Also true is that many small-sized companies work well with government; it’s a mutual interest thing.

It’s a fact of modern life for private companies to have to deal with the government as government has crept into every facet of running a business over the past 100 years.

Does money and scale get bigger companies more access and preferential treatment? Yep. Size matters. Always has. Always will.

Is that fair? Depends on which side of the issue you’re on I guess.

China's governmental policies will be the reason their country will be chaos in less than 3 decades.

And the US won't have to fire a shot...

Ever seen an upper middle class Chinese suburb? Just like ours, except the houses are maybe 1200 SF, AC in only 1-2 rooms, and all two story to allow for more yard.

Why do they want more yard? Because they don't have yards. EVERY SQUARE MM of dirt is planted with something they can eat. Because they know they can't depend on the state.

I'm not even sure what this is suggesting, but aren't you also the poster who tries to tell people that you make something like $700k a year?

As I get older, I find myself distrustful of big in general - whether that be government, corporate, or even individual power. Life is better when you know who to hang for something and it isn’t an impossible task.
