Lived in Troy Alabama for 4 out of 5 years of college/grad school. Population at the time was around 14k. Student enrollment added about 5-6k at the time, but not all were living in town.

I've been in the Birmingham Metro since 2004. Metro area is about 1.1 or 1.2 million.

Smallest: now, three miles from nearest town, and used to be more cattle and horses between than houses.
