Application of these laws is nonsensical when all the parties are minors.

Eating paste and finger painting.

Smartphones and social media have really sexualized kids in an incredibly unhealthy way.

Is this the modern day version of "I'll show you mine if you show me yours"?

i say it all the time, it should be illegal for anyone under 16 (driving age) to have a smart phone

I have friends with 10-15 year old kids and kids area always sending nude pics to each other or posting inappropriate shite on social networking because they dont understand the repercussions (both short-term and long-term) that come with their activities

Slidell...New Orleans East transplants with a good mix of "da parish" for good measure. It is a first rate shithole in the making.

Turn on the Disney channel. I can’t let my daughter watch her princess shows, because half the damn commercials are for some show about middle and high schoolers who are all pregnant or lesbians.

Oh the dangers of snapchat. I monitor my 16 y/o daughter's cell phone and snapchat appeared on it a few days after I gave it to her. I told her she had 30 seconds to explain to me the benefit of having self destructing messages. She forfeited the 30 second appeal process and just deleted it. I see some of my daughters friends and even younger niece and cousins whose parents allow them to use snapchat. It's not easy keeping up with the different apps and things they shouldn't have. I do have it where my daughter can download apps but cant delete them and we have the passwords and monitor her useage. I know if I had these same things when I was a kid I would have been in a whole lot of trouble.

It’s sealed charges. Kids life will not be ruined. I do get your point though.

I heard on swap shop that a 5 year old pulled down his pants at kindergarten and showed his peepee to a girl and now he is serving hard time in juve

1) no elementary-aged kid needs a phone that can do anything more than call or text emergency services or a parent.

2) that's TOTALLY what child porn charges are for--to charge stupid kids who are technologically beyond what their parents are apparently ready for in terms of monitoring.

3) better nudes in the quad, truck nuts, where were this [insert thing] when I was [insert place], etc.

Who is the victim?

They need to rewrite these laws to take the respective ages of the parties into account, like they did with statutory rape laws.

But, beyond that the laws are just stupid given modern technology. Kids can do all sorts of sexual things together, but if someone takes a picture it suddenly becomes a crime.

The Northshore is really cracking down on hard crimes this week. First the oriental spa ladies and now this.

Just give the kids a warning and let it go.

Meh, just give the kids a job at the spa, cut out all the middlemen and years wasted in the school system, cut to the end result early.

That's fricking ridiculous. They're kids in elementary. Just explain to them why it's wrong, suspend them, and be done with it.

The police should have nothing to do with this. This is something that the parents and teachers should deal with.

Who wants to bet these police officers and judges look at tons of questionable porn on the regular? And they want to arrest kids for being kids? Hypocritical idiots.
