Go ahead and walk up to every German shepherd you see and lunge at it to pet them and report back

My in laws used to come over, play with my lab for 30 seconds when they walked in, then get annoyed when she wouldn’t leave them alone. It would drive me insane. It took me a few years to train them to not get her jacked up.

One thing I appreciate tOT for is it is a constant reminder of how many people are just sad miserable fricks. It reminds me how lucky I am to have the people around me that I do in my life.

Brother, if you come up to my Australian Shepherd and just start petting him, you won’t like what happens and it has nothing to do with me. MFer is hyper protective of my wife and I. He will bite you. But hey, you do you!

not really related but i see soooo many weirdos stopping people to pet their dogs at parks and on the street

if you walk around audobon park with a cute puppy it will take you an hour to get around the loop on a nice day

I was taught in the 80s to read a dog's body language and to let an unknown dog smell my hand before trying to pet it.

The fact that “weird” cat people manage to leave their animals at home where they belong and dog people feel the need to take them into fricking Home Depot now unfortunately gives the edge to cat people in terms of “not sucking”

You know what I’m talking about- meekly walking up to another persons dog and offering them a limp wristed hand.

So what do you do? Hump it to assert your dominance?

Coming from someone who loves dogs, you’re honestly right. The type of people who bring their dog literally everywhere and let their dog jump all over you for 3 hours straight at their house are annoying as shite. Bunch of irresponsible, crappy dog owners out there these days. Dogs are awesome animals but people are getting more and more annoying about them

Humans and dogs can’t have a conversation. Dogs understand body language and tone. Getting down to a dog’s level and letting them smell you shows you’re friendly and not trying to hurt them.

Fetching use of dog language here, spot on. I howled when I saw it.
