Since living in CA, I have learned: Persian culture does not teach being nice to workers

It is truly unbelievable how rude Persians are to workers, waiters, sales associates, etc. you notice it everywhere and it honestly irks me.

They never sound friendly, don't say thank you, and honestly are so nitpicky and always feel the need to complain. They find things wrong with everything.

This goes beyond customer service. Our firm almost lost a real estate deal because the Persian buyers melted down over the type of toilet seat covers

I'm guessing this cultural rudeness comes from the fact that most Persians moved here during 1979 revolution and are descended from nobility who are used to treating people like trash.

Are South Koreans known to be assholes? I’ve honestly never heard that.

That’s why I like working with people from India over some other groups (I’m fricking looking at you Canada and fricking UK). Most of the people I have worked with who have come to the US are very willing to assimilate. I actually heard “Merry Christmas” more from Asian people this year than white people actually.

South Koreans are major assholes with a superiority complex. I travel to Seoul on business occasionally and they are pushy and rude.

South Koreans can be very very... territorial.

I’m thinking of the Los Angela’s South Koreans. Some old Korean lady shot some girl in the head for shop lifting hardcore. And then the Koreans were pretty violent in the LA riots. Idk

I certainly would not blame them one bit for trying to protect their property from lawless thugs.

I ain’t judging.

I will say, I have been watching a lot of Asian crime movies recently and reading up on what I’ve been watching and South Korea and Japan aren’t the crime free zones they try to portray themselves as

Their was a guy that owned a restaurant around here that was middle eastern of some sort. I'm not positive that he was Persian but I know for a fact that he was an a-hole. The way he talked to the young girls waitressing in there was pathetic. I stopped going because of that. Always hoped I would hear a story of one of their fathers going in there and knocking his teeth out.

conflict just seems to be a big part of those Mediterranean cultures

bartering, scheming, random angry outbursts etc, all seem common or all of those cultures (Arabs, Persians, Armenians, Greeks, Lebanese, etc)

that culture just has very little chill

We had a Persian friend who somehow got stuck paying $25 for his and our shots. Still will not talk to us even after offering to give him cash.

Persians are very very petty people.

yeah pride and social hierarchy/respect are SUPREMELY important to that Med culture

a while back when i was finding my way in interacting with people i realized that you have to be rude, aggressive, and an a-hole to some people or they'll always try to run over you. redneck white guys and Med guys are the 2 biggest examples

you have to pick and choose your spots but you HAVE to engage in conflict or they will have no respect for you, which means they will hate you deep down

He was a used/new car salesmen. He wasn’t very high on the social hierarchy. We generally liked the guy but one night just flipped his lid over a waitresses mistake.

We were planning on leasing 2 new accords from him too. Still wouldn’t overlook his pride to make money.

Just a strange guy. My other friend claims that’s just how Persians are and not worry about it.
