This has not been my experience in the past decade. At the end of the 80’s, the country was in bad shape. That being said, prior to the Muslim immigration, this once predominantly Christian country was a beautiful country that was a nice place to visit. Rural poverty, yes, but still nice in the cities.

Lebanon is a shithole just like Jamaica which also has a few fenced in resorts.
Long story short the Lebanese would sell you their sister to be able to move into a "swamp trailer", and I say all this as someone who despises coonasses.

BowlJackson, you have absolutely no idea of the amazing aid that Mercy Ships provides West Africa through the services of the Africa Mercy (the largest NGO hospital ship in the world) and its hardworking volunteers (and a few employees).
redstick13, what do you do for Mercy Ships? At one point I wanted to volunteer as one of the ship's photographers, but you had to commit for two years and I just couldn't swing it back then. And if anyone thinks photography is pointless, how could that possibly help, just know that they don't only use images for fundraising and to recruit new volunteers, they also take pictures of the men, women, and children that they help and do before and after shots for them. Then they give them prints.
