And we'll do what we seemingly always do.....We'll continue to let people like that back onto the street until they kill a family of four or a high school senior and then we'll all act sad like there was nothing that could've been done.

For the record; 4 or more DWI's is supposed to be about 10-30.

If he's like someone I know with multiple DUIs, his uber/lyft rating is so low he can't catch a ride.

What's in the water in Shreveport?

Come on, man.
On July 11, officers arrested Tramaine Alexander after he was reportedly caught exposing himself along Texas Avenue in front of adults and children attending a nearby event.
He was taken to the Shreveport City Jail and charged with obscenity under Louisiana Revised Statute 14:106.
Nobody needed to see that.

I personally feel that jail time should start getting phased in at #2 and prison time after #3. With the ease of ridesharing services today there is really no excuse.

quote:

On July 12, at approximately 1:00 a.m., officers were patrolling near Market Street and Texas Street while monitoring a large crowd when they heard a crash nearby.
Officers found two vehicles that had been involved in a collision. One driver, identified as Jacory Harris, was standing in front of a white Dodge Ram with heavy front-end damage.
As officers spoke with Harris, they observed that his speech was slurred and that he could not walk without losing his balance. Officers also noticed a Styrofoam cup in the truck’s cup holder.
When an officer attempted to retrieve the cup, Harris allegedly grabbed the officer and tried to push him away from the vehicle. Officers attempted to detain Harris, but he became combative and physically resisted.
Harris was eventually taken to the ground and secured using a WRAP restraint system, which is used to safely control combative individuals who are violently kicking, flailing, or attempting to injure officers.
Harris was evaluated by the Shreveport Fire Department and transported to a local hospital. After being medically cleared, he was booked into the Shreveport City Jail.
He now faces charges of:
• Battery of a police officer
• Resisting an officer with force or violence
• Seventh-offense DWI
Records indicate this is Harris’ fifth DWI arrest involving the Shreveport Police Department, with additional arrests occurring in other jurisdictions.
Fortunately, no Shreveport police officers were seriously injured.

How can you take getting a DWI serious if this is happeneing? You would think after 3 you're going to jail for a while. After 5 you probably need to be locked up longer.

I couldn’t even find a taxi in Paducah Kentucky at 9:30 on a Wednesday night.

I agree. Most people learn their lesson after the first one. Having more is highly indicative that you have a serious drinking problem or that you get incredibly stupid when you drink. The consequences need to add up quickly
