The reality is she’s probably trying to tell you don’t give her enough attention. Unless she’s constantly wanting to buy more expensive shite, I doubt she’s that hung up in the ring itself.
Just give her time to cool off, go back say you’re sorry, even though you have no reason to be other than believing this is actually about a ring, and plan something nice for her.
Point is she feels like you don’t value her much anymore and probably insecure because of it. The ring nonsense is just a vessel to tell you this.

This. Just look at the rings women post/save/share on Pinterest. They’re $40k+ rings. Many women have no idea how expensive multi-carat rings are. I imagine it’s because the photos on your jeweler’s website are super zoomed in and detailed to make it look large.
OP should just tell her if it’s that important to impress other women with a huge ring (weird), get a Moissanite and nobody will know the difference.

My wife wears a simple unadorned gold band. It was her grandmother’s ring from the old country and all she wanted to wear. No stones. No other rings.
Young bucks out there, choose very, very carefully. A marriage partner has to know to set aside childish things likes stones and vanity. And my condolences to the OP.

Women are emotional creatures. So getting pissed over something petty and stupid and should have expected and running to a message board is being a baby. I don’t see the value of an expensive ring. You are co m in to his defense but don’t even understand what you’re fighting for.
And I think it’s stupid to get pissed over petty shite. She’s materialistic. He knew that when he married her. If he didn’t that’s shame on him. But what is he gonna do? Be pissed for a day? A week? A month? For what just to say he was pissed and got affirmation to be pissed by a bunch of random dudes on a message board. That’s just low emotional maturity. Especially for an argument that’s not gonna mean anything or probably even remember a year from now.
Y’all just like to get pissed over the very thing. Must be some miserable people. And no not getting upset over trivial shite doesn’t mean a cuck mentality.
