Today:

Tomorrow:

For many, this will be an overnight/early morning threat. Have a way to get warnings that will wake you up if you are sleeping.

The threat in Louisiana, particularly South Louisiana, is more conditional. Storms may not be severe, but there is a possibility that ingredients come together to have a severe threat.

My North AL and North MS folks, this is one of the better threats we've seen in a while. Tomorrow could be a long day, beginning with potentially severe storms early in the morning and at least another round or two of likely severe storms thought the day. The threat should exit North AL after ~11pm tomorrow.

I tried to include the full discussion, but hit the character limit.

Meanwhile the Forecaster's Discussion from NWS NOLA this morning

quote:

.

LONG TERM...
(Wednesday night through Monday)
Issued at 320 AM CST Tue Feb 14 2023

The next front will move quickly toward the area. But even though
the warm sector will be far inland, instability is still quite
lacking or at least being disconnected with the help of an almost
isothermal layer in the low levels. Shear is not that impressive
either. But as usual, it will be one of those that one can never
say never to. But at the moment it just looks like a rainer with
some gusty winds. Would like to see the LFC and LCL at the same
level and sfc based and this does occur but one has to get well
inland for it to be this way. This is also most likely why SPC has
the slight risk inland and prob could have been even farther
north but its always good to buffer. The front should be through
the area by 9pm Thursday bringing some chilly air once again. The
next system could be seen by mid next week and at the moment, it
looks subdued as well. But this is too far out to make any
decisive moves on it.

How did you come up with that one? I've never heard that before. That's hilarious!

Any idea what time this is supposed to start? I’m in NETX for meetings tomorrow and want to split before it gets sporty.

These clowns think anytime we have a chance of rain we need a thread. No pun intended.
