Sort of surprised SPC has yet to pull the trigger on any tornado watches.

I thought I read someone's Twitter how they felt tonight was going to be somewhat limiting

And as soon as I say that a new (and large) tornado watch has been issued.

So BR isn't going to get hit by a severe weather event tomorrow?

Baton Rouge is still in the standard slight risk (Level 2/5 risk) for severe weather tomorrow.

The threat for SE Louisiana is a conditional one, which is why they are in the Slight Risk area. It is possible things come together well enough that there will be severe storms, but it will be a now-casting deal.

Any comment on the mass of thunderstorms that popped up in a tight strong mass in neTexas and seOhlahoma?

They're doing about what was expected. There was a window for them to have really big hail, but that has mostly passed. They've produced a handful of tor warnings, but nothing that has been obviously on the ground that I've seen. That line will move into AR overnight carrying a severe risk and will diminish some. It will later reform tomorrow and have a greater risk as it moves East.

Generally, the more southern storms that form with that line will pose the greatest risk for tornadoes.

I imagine so, being that you're about 8-10 hours out from the main threat.

Then why a tornado watch since 9:30 and ENH risk for today? That’s for tomorrow, I though we were supposed to get a wave today and then the main thing tomorrow morning

I seem to have enough signal to get the radar up, check for warnings, and read this thread so that's a big plus from where we were earlier. Hopefully it lasts. Still only showing one bar and home internet isn't working so no tv

Also glad NWS figured out a way to piss off Delta

I got tBoat to put in a call to JAN to pull the trigger early. Simply to annoy you.

Update on KNQA Radar: We think there is a hardware failure possibly caused by a lightning strike near the dome. Unfortunately, there's not much our techs can do about it until the storms pass since it's not safe to go up in the high voltage dome while it's raining/lightning.
