When I went to college, LSU accepted people with a 14 on the ACT. I didn't even apply. Had 2 people go to LSU out of 83 in my class. We had more people go to Yale, Harvard, Williams, Stanford, Duke, UVA, UNC, Amherst and Vanderbilt than LSU. Why would I?

I have always loved LSU sports and always will.

Husband, oldest and youngest children went to LSU. Middle child planned to go to LSU until SLU offered a very nice scholarship. She also had TOPS and a scholarship from my husband's employer. She got paid to go to school!

Flagships are always based on location, not quality.

Um.

In most states flagships get the lions share of resources. Ergo, the increased quality and opportunities.

But in LA, politicians believe you should be able to get a degree commuting from home. So they put a 4 year university every 1 hour drive, so it dilutes the effect.

Still there though.

Washington & Lee or LSU. I'll let you think about that while you put salt on your Tuesday night crawfish and as I'm eating my filet mignon.

I was born a die hard LSU fan, I never even thought about going to any other school, but there are many reasons why people who had the option to go to LSU, didn't.

Some people prefer to go to a smaller school.

They want to go to one of the other universities in state, that is closer to home.

They might want to major in something that one of the other schools has a better program (I know a guy who is from right outside of Central. He majored in Mechanical engineering, could have gone to LSU, but he thought La Tech had a better engineering department so that's where he went).

But I do not understand why anyone would go to ULL if they had the option to go to LSU.

Tech offered full ride plus.

LSU only offered full ride.

Economic decision.

Southeastern was way cheaper, until they brought the football team back. Only had 1 year with the increased fees and shite for the football team though. Also, it was close to where I had drill.

Football was completely funded by private funding for several years.

My dad died my junior year of HS, so I didn’t want to leave my mom alone and be a bigger financial drain

Was accepted to LSU, went to Nicholls
