The drivetrains on those Fords, GMs, and Tundras were all very reliable. Overall the Tundras were probably the longest lasting although the GM 5.3 was just as good. It’s just the rest of the vehicle would not last as long.

I had each of these new-
‘98 Chevy 1500
‘00 Chevy 1500
‘03 Ford Super Crew
‘05 Avalanche
‘07 Avalanche (I kept this one until 2014, ~300k miles, it was so wonderful)
That’s what I’d have again out of my personal experience.
Jeep Grand Cherokees since then, they’ve all been great.

‘05 Avalanche
‘07 Avalanche (I kept this one until 2014, ~300k miles, it was so wonderful)

The Ram for the Hemi engine… Still have a 97 with over 200k miles and still runs like a charm. Air compressor is out but thats it.

I had an 07 commander with the 5.7 Hemi and 2014 Cherokee overland with the V6 and both were great. Went to go with a 2021 Trackhawk but wife said it was the same as her V6 one she used to have

My husband is a woman and hates trucks too. Douchebag. They are made for a purpose and a daily driver is not one.

My fiancee's daily driver is her 2004 5.3L 2WD regular cab Silverado. Has about 220k well maintained miles on it. I've replaced the water pump, alternator, knock sensors, intake gaskets, belts, did a full frontend rebuild on it and replaced the shocks and axle snubs few months back, have done all the fluids several times, did the oil pan gasket, rear main seal, transmission input shaft seal, and rear end pinion bearing and seal this year too. All of those things any 20 year old truck needs including a Tundra. I can buy all OEM parts for that Silverado almost anywhere, which is all I ever use on my vehicles.
Her mother has a 2003 4.8L Sierra, barely over 100k miles.

I had a 2001 Ram 1500. Had the 318 V8 and single cab short bed. Loved that truck. Drove it all through college. When I got married and moved off my dad wanted to switch vehicles with me. He had a grand Cherokee and wanted an extra for his runs to Lowe’s. He kept it a few years then gave it to my Uncle who drove it another 10 years or so before trading it for a 4x4 Chevy. It was still running great. I wish he had asked us if we wanted it back. I would have given him whatever the trade in was worth at least.

I had that exact Silverado for 8 years until some idiot tried to pass the car in front of them and didn’t account for on coming traffic.

all nostalgic looks, but when I go through them I feel like the Tundra's style looks the least dated out of them. Maybe that GMC is close
