Watched hours and hours of his content around covid times, plus seeing people reacting to his videos. All you have to do is be smart, read a lot, and practice for 20 years apparently

I'd say so, he's def changed his tune

2015 about Tesla and SpaceX: "The US government has been helpful. Without subsidies, we would not have gotten here." to years later saying "I am literally saying get rid of all subsidies."

2016 about Trump "I feel a bit stronger that he is probably not the right guy. He doesn't seem to have the sort of character that reflects well on the United States."

2018: "I'm not a conservative. I'm registered independent and politically moderate."

2020: Criticized social media for not moderating content and misinformation effectively. Now it's all about absolute free speech on X.

re: I like Rizzi but…

Until we can improve our cap game and attract a high caliber coach, Rizzi might be a good prove-it bridge, and if it doesn't work out during rebuild time, oh well..
When it comes to PMI, just consider it a cost that either fits into your budget or it doesn't. It's mentally nice to not have it, but don't let it be huge deterrent.

If you're avoiding buying a house because of PMI only, consider a scenario where you delay buying a house for another year to save up a little more so that when you're ready to buy you don't have to have PMI. In your example you wait a year to save $1,200 in PMI costs.

One year later you have more saved up and ready to buy but guess what, that same house might be on the market for $10k or $20k more.
Theo Von ones are always good

Science based, anything with Brian Cox, Brian Greene, or Sean Carroll
fish and chips are always a hit food wise. It's a lot of fun, you can take 3-5 hours pretty easily imo
Tons of surge. But those gusts on some of the live streams are way higher than those map readings which makes it look very insignificant
I was preparing to be let down a bit after absolutely loving Emptiness Machine but they're 2 for 2 so far for me. Another banger that's already on repeat.

First time finding this thread and of course a ton of negativity for this. Classic...never change, TD.

I agree first of all…. but I will say that it’s harder to trust intensity models lately. Too many storms just raced right past the predictions within 24 hours sometimes
Hated the frick up and hated the call.... but I will say it's refreshing to at least see a ref behind the mic and explain himself regardless if we agree with it. I wish more sports had that

Sibrel interviewed Gus Grissom’s wife who stated that Gus, the day before his death, said the mission wasn’t going to be able to make the timeline and that he saw what he thought was CIA operatives messing around the Apollo aircraft that exploded with him and 2 other astronauts in it.

Protect public image of a delay by killing your American astronauts instead. Makes sense

The van allen belt with the extensive radiation that would make it impossible with 1960’s technology for anyone to survive through it, much less live into their 80’s.

Tech that goes to space has always gotten extensive testing and hardening for the radiation exposure. You don't go to space and bring your PC or phone chip that certainly would have more issues in the belt

How can equipment survive the extensive heat on the moon. Polaroid pictures that would begin to disintegrate as soon as they are exposed to the surface of the moon?

The heat of what exactly, the surface? Surely you don't mean the 'air' surrounding the equipment...

The shadows from the pictures of the moon landing seem to contradict the moon landing and how true Sun shadows run parallel to each other vs different directions.

covered in this thread a few times

Buzz Aldrin who apparently brings back what was claimed to be a moon rock that was later analyzed to be petrified wood.

Somebody yoinked or never received a real one. Definitely enough to make you wonder what happened, but hardly any proof that moon rocks in general are fake or not around

Current AI technology has apparently analyzed the photos and said the pictures were a fake.

any credible source? Would love to read it (not sarcasm)

quote:

Elon Musk and other astrophysicist say that current missions to the moon would require 8 starship launches to fuel up a single moon trip.

Completely different fuel requirements for different spacecraft and lander size and weight. Also Elon may be talking in generalities here, not waiting for the the best earth-to-moon transfer window for efficiency

I'm glad people question things, as they should. But you should stay open minded and look for information, not confirmation.

Bonus: the guy on the podcast said there was a 50% chance to get hit by a meterorite per day, so after three days that meant "150%, aka certain death" ... lol

anybody know where a majority of the tornado damage in Slidell took place.

Got a friend off of Bayou Liberty Road I'm trying to check in on, hasn't responded to my messages.

Just assuming with the power out and other things he doesn't have a strong 5g signal

yea, lot of power out and bad cell service in that area
I wouldn’t consider it healthy. You can be a functioning adult and I also like to have a drink or one too many on occasions but drinking any significant amount on the daily is just unhealthy. Sure millions of people around the world do it but that wasn’t the question. Alcohol at the end of the day is still a poison that takes your body some work to cleanse. Give your body a break here and there, you only get one of those.

they actually will in time. A small camera module detached before impact to film it from 3rd person view. Also both the Hubble and Webb were focusing on the event. Not sure on timeline but I don't think we can expect any of those in the next few days yet

Edit: The attempt is to change the path/angle by like 1% which at enough distance can easily be center of earth vs flyby
It's just another form of (potentially) good entertainment. I enjoy reaction videos if the creator is legit and not overacting. It's usually easy to tell.

One of my childhood friends has a PHD in computer science. Really probably the only person I would characterize as a genius I’ve ever know. He was offered jobs with every major tech company as well as many private equity firms in Silicon Valley. Passed them all up to teach. Can’t imagine how much he would have made but he doesn’t care

I respect that... a lot
