I’ve lived in my hood for 13 years and never seen a woman do anything in the lawn except garden. It’s not a trend.

My wife and son mowed the summer after my open heart surgeries. Once she came home and caught me doing it and she lost her shite. She treated me like the boy in the bubble, super protective. After my son graduated HS and moved out we hired a yard crew who’ve been doing it the last couple years.

I have never done it but my grandma looked cute riding on the lawn tractor when she felt like it. I would do it with a big sun hat.

I have never mowed a yard. My dad did it. My husband does it. My son does it. I do plenty, but I dont do that.
No criticism of those ladies who do, just not my thing.

My husband works 14/14 and I’m not going 14 days without a mowed yard. And I don’t have a Jody to take care of it for me. So yeah, I mow the lawn once or twice a month. According to my Apple Watch it’s a legit workout.

I'm recovering from ankle surgery and for a good while, mostly in the fall and early spring, I could not get out to mow when it needed, but that was only about every 2 weeks or so.
As it warmed up and the grass started growing good again my wife got out to cut the grass about 3 times and she needs breaks that stretches the job out to more than 1 1/2 hours. The same job takes me a little more than 1/2 hour and that includes cutting, edging, cleaning up the walks, patio and equipment before going back in the shed. Bless her heart for the effort, but it obviously is too much for her, especially in the heat we are now experiencing.
I'm now doing it again and have to at least 5 times a month to keep it in check. We've been getting sufficient rain to make the grass grow quickly.

I’m in my late 60s and have been mowing my own yard for at least 20 years I’m incredibly picky about keeping my lawn looking great. When I first divorced,I had big corner lot with a pool. I took care of lawn, shrubbery and pool. Have since retired and downsized but I do more yard work than ever. Front has lawn and flowerbeds. Back has no grass, just large shrubs and flowerbeds. I work in it several hours every day. Husband loves how nice everything looks and will mow if I’m out of town. I do all the hedges, pressure washing, weeding, etc. I put out a dozen bags of mulch last Friday and put 20 bags out for my elderly neighbor a couple of weeks ago.

my wife ain't touching my yard
its all i got when she starts bitching about the laundry.
This is the answer 100%. I don't mind cleaning, doing the dishes, etc. I'll even wash and dry clothes, but I don't fold and put up. The yard is the only bargaining chip I have left. Plus, I would rather no one else touch my yard. That's why I don't pay anyone to do it.

Hell no. She rode around on the zero turn for 30 minutes and I needed new blades.
Mine wanted to give it a go once. 10 minutes later I was pulling it out of the ditch.

I won't tell my wife this, but I like mowing the grass. Gives me a break from life and I get some exercise. If she wanted to do it, I'd figure out a way to not let her
Exactly. I talk about it like its something I dread, but its actually an escape. 3.5 hours on the zero turn listening to podcasts and no one talking to me.

My neighborhood is based. You’d see a six year old boy mowing the lawn before you’d see a woman doing it.

There's plenty on this board that would take you up on the offer while your husband is out.

Most men are soy boys. Alex Jones was right about the frogs.
To be fair if any of the husbans knew how to start a mower they just might mow.

Sounds like my mom and her kubota. She runs over stumps, hoses, bricks, you name it. I’m constantly fixing that mfer.

Do they mow in the spandex pants? Would love to give those a big sniff after a hot morning in the yard.
Just throw a roll of nickels into a ziplock, then fart in it.

I used to help my husband mow when we had a lawn tractor and an acre to do. I enjoyed it because it was the only thing I did that lasted longer than an hour (we had four kids).
Now we have 1/3 acre, and he push mows it. No way I'm mowing in this heat. Thankfully, he enjoys yard work, even when it's 90+ degrees outside. I'm more than happy to take care of the inside stuff.
