Hilarious list!

Missing a lot of major companies...must be a pay to be on the list kinda thing.

New Orleans-based Entergy and family-owned Boh Brothers Construction were named among the top companies in Louisiana by Forbes Magazine.

In November, the business and financial publication released its first ever list of the best companies in each U.S. state. More than 50,000 companies were assessed on factors such as size, financial strength and customer and employee satisfaction. Forbes devised a methodology to score each company and ranked the highest-scoring in each state for a total list of 750 companies across the country.

Entergy and Boh Bros. took the No. 1 and 2 spots, respectively. The top five is rounded out by Lamar Advertising in Baton Rouge, which rakes in billions from billboards across 10 states, Hendons Building & Car Ports in Monroe and Raising Cane’s, the Baton Rouge chicken finger fast food chain that has rapidly expanded nationwide.

Here are the 15 Louisiana companies that made the list:

1. Entergy, New Orleans

2. Boh Bros. Construction LLC, New Orleans

3. Lamar Advertising Company, Baton Rouge

4. Hendons Buildings & Car Ports, Monroe

5. Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers Baton Rouge

6. ISC Constructors, Baton Rouge

7. Turner Industries, Baton Rouge

8. Acadian, Lafayette

9. Laitram, Harahan

10. Martco Partnership, Alexandria

11. Imperial Trading LLC, Elmwood

12. Bollinger Shipyards, Lockport

13. J Par Gulf South, Mandeville

14. Guard Gate-Lube Plant, Sulphur

15. Edison Chouest Offshore, Cut Off

Definitely not based on revenue. MMR is much larger than ISC if they're talking about total revenue

Didn't read the article but figured Stuller would have been in there.

I guess is Chouest is 15th that puts the bar higher than I expected.

I think it's more that a lot of privately held companies see it to be in their interests to keep themselves off of such lists.

The article says size, strength, and customer/employee satisfaction. Either MMR has some grumpy customer & employee satisfaction, or this list is crap. There’s no way it’s that bad for ISC to outweigh the size and financial strength of MMR.

Everyone that I know that works for corporate Entergy is very happy and paid well.

Plus their stock has increased a remarkable amount due to all the data centers. Im sure their bonuses have been handsome...
