Plastic straws can't be recycled?

They probably can, but 9.9/10 they are pitched with the cup. They end up in the ocean and are ducking things up. These recycled paper straws wil biodegrade.

I’m not some tree hugging lefty, but when we can take simple steps to make the world a better place, why not do it?

It’s a policy adopted throughout Europe as well.

Not everything non-redneck is lib......

Men are now encouraged to drink liquid through another mans penis.

But God forbid if you try to drink a Coke Zero through a plastic straw.

Dark Days are upon us.

fricking libs.

No.
Seriously, walk up and down your nearest highway or county road and see how much garbage is alongside the roadways. It's utterly disgusting. How people can have such blatant disregard for anything just to throw out their Taco Bell trash out their car windows disappoints me at the most.

The "Libs" as you call "them" are just trying to save our country from looking like a 3rd world country.

In all seriousness, every little bit helps. Plastic straws are painfully wasteful.

It sucks that we have to qualify any amount of environmental awareness like this

Coffee cups and tops are usually made of paper now.

Stoppers are the only plastic thing in mine. Funny thing about them is one guy makes all of them, and holds the patent on the product. Was a Boeing exec that got pissed about spilling coffee on himself, quit his job, and invented the stoppers. Basically, he makes money off of every single one used in every coffee store around the world

It's just signaling. There are far greater methods of saving the environment than banning plastic straws.

Seattle is famous for these types of things.

Can someone show me a non-FaceBook non Earth Day website with a peer reviewed scientific study or report that says straws are damaging the ocean?

We have been using plastic straws for decades and then all of a sudden they are ruining the Eatth. That caught me off-guard and makes me think there might be some social media hysteria happening. Would like to read up on it.

Hope they are offering lower water bills and subsidies to places that now need to purchase dishwashers to comply with new regulation.

I know most of you baws are not in the greater NOLA area but MoPho switched over and it works pretty well. Towards the end of the meal it starts to break down. Worked well, why not.
