And they don’t work. In a perfect world, people wouldn’t be trashy and we wouldn’t need laws or plastic straw bans. But we don’t live in that world.

what's the problem with metal straws? y'all get worked up over some strange things. why don't you demand that restaurants give you plastic forks and knives too?

What’s the alternative? I don’t like laws either unless there is no other way

Make a 2 minute google search baw. I get what youre trying to say that there are bigger fish to fry in the pollution game, but why not do small things along the way.
Consider this, you and a friend are stranded miles from civilization with no food, water, form of communication, or transportation. Your buddy has mosquito repellant. He offers it to you to use. Do you tell him, frick naw baw, we have bigger problems right now?

Exactly. The land of the free gets less and less freer.

It’s not about straws. It about constant and never ending government overreach
I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say you had no issue with government overreach when the government told gay people that they couldn't get married.

One day soon Seattle will ban white men

You would think living in the Sportsman Paradise, Louisiana folks would care more about this stuff. But, when you go anywhere outdoors in Louisiana there is liter and junk everywhere.

Seriously, walk up and down your nearest highway or county road and see how much garbage is alongside the roadways. It's utterly disgusting. How people can have such blatant disregard for anything just to throw out their Taco Bell trash out their car windows disappoints me at the most.
The "Libs" as you call "them" are just trying to save our country from looking like a 3rd world country.
Awesome. So, can we now ban cigarettes? I have seen way more cigarette butts on the street than straws.

needing plastic in your life is trashy

In Louisiana, they passed a law that increased the fine for littering related to cigarette butts. I think they funneled the money to State Police retirement instead of environmental cleanup so go figure.

When I went to SeaWorld in Orlando last year, they were all about the paper straws, and in some cases no straw at all.
Those things suck! Like others have said, if you don't gulp down your drink in the first five minutes, the straw starts to fall apart.

What percentage of waste in the ocean do straws make up?

Mileage restrictions, emission restrictions, etc. are something I'm typically not happy about because it has a significant affect on my daily life. Straws is just a non starter. I rarely use them. Unless it's handed to me with a straw in it, I never use one.
