Amazing how nature just takes over after dwellings have been abandoned...

This is a lie. I have seen him and others who copycat from him who do vacant houses.
You have seen copycats, not SB. SB always gets permission. He talks about it many times why that is.

When I was a kid, the house next door was like this. It was a very nice house at one time, but the old lady who lived there was sick, and her kids didn't help her with it.
When she passed, someone bought the house and fixed it up. I spent part of a summer watching these guys clear up the backyard. None of us knew there was pool back there. The grass grew over the pool, and I think one of the guys working back there fell in.
The house had a detached garage. One day they discovered bees in the wall. They beekeeper called out to clear the bees, and they had to remove the siding. The beehive was 12 feet long and 8 feet high.

It was fascinating to witness.
When they were removing the beehive, I wasn't allowed to go outside for a couple of days unless it was to go to my friends house a few blocks away.
I could see them working from my bedroom window though, and was amazed at how they were able to remove the bees then the hive.

he come to any abandoned property, film himself work, and make comfortable money without ever having to ask someone for their business.
Have you watched many of his videos? It’s not all abandoned houses. Even if it is he asks around the neighborhood to see if anyone knows who owns it. It’s not like he just drives up to an overgrown yard and starts cutting without permission. He has plenty of situations where he asks the people that live there if he can clean up the yard.

Many of those houses are in foreclosure, and he is actually taking eventual work away from crews who get contracts to clean up and maintain those foreclosed properties. My crews have done many jobs in the same or worse condition than the ones on his channel because there can be some legal delays until a lender clears a house to be worked on during pre-foreclosure status. Those jobs are large revenue jobs for people in my industry and he's just taking them for views on YT.
Here's an idea, copy him. Start cleaning up these yards and make money from YT views.

The guys that got property preservation jobs off craigslist and doing grass cuts for $20 will still get their grass cuts. The dude isn't taking any contracts away and you have no idea how many of those houses are in foreclosure.
For a guy that tries to be a hard arse on here, it's amazing how big of a puss you can be.

i would love to know the follow up to this one; what is up with that owner?
feels super sad to me; kids' playground, swingset, in-ground basketball goal, pool w diving board, a pretty nicely built deck..
must be something tragic to make the homeowner shut down like that and stop caring about anything.

That neighbor lady was there saying he used to hand out full sized candy bars on halloween. Something tragic def happened, like the death of his family or something.

Has nobody else noticed that at the 9:38 mark a rabbit just casually hops across the road when they're talking to the older lady?

Cmon man. He’s a one man crew and these are not “large revenue jobs”. Trash out and lock outs don’t pay that much. He’s not taking work from anybody. And if he does take the random job every now and then, there are many more.
