Type in "Blue Ocean Strategy". Read enough to understand the difference between Red Ocean and Blue Ocean. Stick to the Blue Ocean if at all possible with either service or products. Whatever you do differentiate otherwise it comes down to price.

You want to be in the market creation side not on the market conceding side. Market conceding is where people have the same shite... service or product... and lowest price wins or lowest cost wins. Market conceding is where X amount of business moves around between companies as they get cheaper or their competition gets a little more expensive. Tough business.

Not the answer you are looking for but more philosophical. Will help you not throw $100K away.

If you want a serious answer then buy rental property. Find some houses around 200k and buy them. Rent them for $.90 to 1.00 per square foot.

Not trying to sound like a shithead, but 100k isn’t that much when starting a business. Especially some of the franchises suggested, which have minimums much above that.
