The older woman was at fault. She freaked out and pushed the pizza at the other woman.

When you do something like that to someone, while their reaction might be over the top, you put yourself in that situation when you do what she did.

The average person sucks at communication and doesn't have the highest emotional intelligence so these things happen.

The Chapelle Show doesn’t need to come back. It’s real life now.

You also put yourself in a situation where you can be charged with assaulting another nauseating human being.

See the more this happens the more the line moves in favor of the employee, to me. Im sick of seeing these shite customers, shite on people doing their job. And im getting to the point of, if the customer wants beef, by all means give it to them.

Well you've been a mall cop for going on 12 years... I'm sure you've seen it all.

She looked pleased with herself though.

Not sure why. She shoved a lady over twice her age and size, who probably hasn’t been in a physical confrontation in her life to the ground. They both looked like a couple of losers.

unpopular opinion but I fully support the employee here. We need to get back to putting crazy arse people like that Karen in their place.

Bet she'll think twice about doing that shite again.

also I agree with the other poster in that I would have offered her half of her money back

People like her are clueless and self absorbed. Once the bruise heals on her fat arse, I doubt it will change a thing as far as her personality goes. She probably enjoys the attention she receives from fashioning herself a victim.

This was a prime example of awesome customer service. Karen came in, demanding a physical confrontation, looked at the menu, ordered, paid, and was served.

When you commit aggravated assault on someone, you lose the right to say how someone should have reacted to your crime.

Also, the one who runs when they think the Po-leece are being called is voting for their guilt.

The Pizza Hut employee will be arrested and the store will get sued. But, you can call that a win if you want.

but they/their would be looking for a job if I owned that Pizza Hut.

Same.

And then I'd cut a personal check for $5,000 and mail it to the former employee.

I'm team Pizza Hut on this. Yeah, the employee probably will (and should) lose their job, but the days of "the customer is always right" need to go away. If you treat me with respect, you'll get respect back, and I'll do everything in my power to make you leave happy. The second you start being an a-hole, you get treated like an a-hole and you get nothing.

The employees reaction is beyond the offense. It’s like Will Smith slapping Chris Rock. The proportionality is wrong.

I completely disagree.

That customer was being a verbally abusive menace and technically committed battery first (throwing food is battery)
