BATON ROUGE - Rouses is opening its latest store in North Baton Rouge, aiming to help fill a major need for an underserved part of the community.

Rouses said Monday that it plans to open the new market at the corner of Florida Boulevard and N Ardenwood Drive.

The new store is part of a joint effort to redevelop the area with Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome, Councilman Cleve Dunn Jr. (District 6), Baton Rouge Area Chamber, Build Baton Rouge, and Baton Rouge North Economic Development District.

What kind of massive tax breaks do you have to get to justify this?

Technically yes... for practical purposes no.

It's not like Rouse's is plopping down at Plank and Hollywood.

Will it take longer to build this store, or have the massive theft close it down?

Back in the day the boundary was the RR tracks along Choctaw.
Now it’s probably Government Street.
Before line it will be I 10/12

All it takes is one BRPD or EBRSO working detail to stop that. They will actually arrest someone for stealing.

Walmart at College Drive has this all the time and Walmart in Gonzales has a Gonzales cop there at night.

1. Rouses can afford it
2. Rouses could use the good PR after the owner was found out to be present(NOT NEAR the Capitol) at the Trump rally around January 6th. There's still a good number of black folks in La who boycotted Rouses even though it didn't make a significant dent in sales.

This a pretty cool move. I'll use that store about 3 times a year I figure.
