Just got rejected for a credit card with Bank of America. The reasons listed in the letter were: credit score of 840, too many inquiries on your credit file, limited deposit and/or investment balances with us, length of time your account with us has been open.

First time I have been rejected for a card and my credit has never been higher. Anyone have a similar experience?

Subtle brag I got an 840 credit score thread.

Some places are hard as hell to get approved for. I’ve tried to get an academy credit card multiple times and they will not accept me.

If you want it that bad go to the bank and talk to a banker, they'll get it for you.

And by the way, I doubt you have an 840 credit score.

Sorry you got rejected by the only financial institution in the country that issues credit cards.

That wasn't your credit score, that was your net worth.

How many credit cards have you applied for recently? One of the the reasons was that you had too many inquiries. That's probably why they get rejected you

Or maybe don't do business with shitty big banks? There's no card BoA has that's worth having.

When I played Little League I hit .840

Was an on-base machine.

How old are You?

Sounds like you have a limited credit history. You can have a high score, but if your lending history is relatively shallow, it can be tough to get approved. Also, stop applying for loans and credit cards all over town, or your score will dip in a hurry.

Are you white? Diversity is a big factor in financial institutions today. Maybe you need to feel what it’s like to be oppressed for once.

That sounds like a bullshite ploy to get you to dump money into their banks...I would withdraw everything and close my accounts there.

Also, you need to figure out why there is an excessive number of inquiries on your credit file. Have you been car shopping or something like that?

If you’ve applied for more than a couple things recently, that’s probably the reason. Multiple inquiries can be perceived as desperate for more credit/a red flag. Or you applied for a product meant for BoA customers.

Nah, I typically read the guidelines before applying.
