Are you feeding him around your other dogs? Could he be worried that they will take it from him? If so, maybe try feeding him in a different location so he knows the food is only for him?

My lab will go 2 to 3 days sometimes not eating then she’ll eat regularly for a while then she’ll go for a month and eat about half of what her normal amount is. My theory is dogs eat when they’re hungry.

Also consider topping dry food with cheap canned beef gravy, seems to help sick dogs eat.

I think we found the problem. Break him off the people food including rib bones. Not good for him or you, as it will cause health problems later. Dogs aren’t meant to consume all the sodium and calories we do.
Try a little canned pumpkin on top of kibble, and they make dog friendly toppers you can find at any pet store.
They will almost always eat plain boiled chicken breast (chicken bones are dangerous though) and white rice from what I’ve experienced.

We went the route of lagniappe on top of dry kibble. Dog eats but insists on the full ritual every time, He isn't all that concerned about what I add. A tablespoon of cottage cheese usually causes him to eat everything.
A trick a friend used when his dog refused a new brand of kibble was to use the new stuff pellet-by-pellet just as a treat for a couple of days before filling a bowl with it.
The expense dog food has become pretty amazing.

If my dog doesn’t eat, he’s going straight to the vet. I don’t think he has ever not eaten his food. He will eat anything.

Of course. You dog had separation anxiety so of course this dog could have separation anxiety from the sister when the dog had the same symptoms with the sister

Sounds like stress. Try to be nice and take him for a walk; I think he's just scared. He could be sick, but there are other symptoms to look out for: is he drinking? Is he taking shits?

I live by a lake. The little f**ker figured out that he could jump onto my pontoon boat while it is in the boat slip. He is currently curled on the back seat of my pontoon boat with a stuffed toy under his chin napping his arse off.

Put some food out there .. I’m sure you don’t want to have to feed him out there but maybe it’s worth a try?

He just needs to know someone loves him. He’s frightened. He most likely was abused and beaten. If it persist you can ask the vet to give him a prescription to increase his appetite. I’ve done that before with strays.
If you want to save him keep him and show him love. He will be the best pet you have ever had and be your best friend for life. Obviously you care about animals because you took him in. Thank you for caring.

He's just anxious about the new digs. Keep trying with ground beef, shredded chicken or even some baked salmon (skin too) Once he has established some comfort, you can wean him off.

My wife cooks for our dogs. She buys rice, frozen chick peas, frozen carrots, sweet potatoes and ground turkey. Throws it in a crock pot on Sunday, it last 2 dogs a week. We do throw a little kibble in it.
She says it cheaper than dog food and the dogs love it.
