I tried this. My wife was tremendously offended by the idea of not rocking her babies to sleep.

My advice is as soon as you think you got it in hand, you make a noise, kid is awake and back to zero. Go as slow as possible!

Yes. In winter time put a heating pad in there on low. Move it right before putting the infant down.

This is great advice! I had four kids and have handled 13 grandkids so far. This works!
