The less you say to police the better. You're already getting a ticket. More talking only adds to more problems.

Screw that.

Talk their heads off. Be overly polite but don't shut up or give them a chance to disengage.

I haven't gotten a ticket in years because I make it as emotionally taxing as possible.

If the state police vehicles are not required to have an inspection sticker, then why was there one on his vehicle to begin with?

If you want, file out a complaint and include the inspection sticker and how you felt he was harassing you by making you resign. Nothing will come of it, but it will be a complaint in his file and you never know when someone else will complain about the same thing. But the best thing to do is tell the story like you did here so people we the bad side of LEOs and demand they do their jobs correctly. Small changes.

IDK, but the weekend before last I was in traffic on the interstate. I was coming from Port Allen and was heading to the Plaquemine exit. Traffic was stop and go.... More stop than go. There is a LSP on the service road with his lights on passes everyone in traffic and then merges in right before getting on the bridge.. Turns his lights off and proceeds to be in traffic life everyone else.

Evidently they are above the law.

New idea. Can we get a lawyer to argue that since LSP writes so many tickets (pretty much all they do), that they are intrastate commerce and should be treated as CMV? I'll support a GFM for that.

You're just asking for a ticket

Do not engage them. Yes sir, no sir, thank you and have a great day is all you should say.

While I take your point and do just that it is the main reason they behave the way they do...because the sick bastards enjoy being treated like a god who can do no wrong. I go out of my way to avoid them because the older I get the less I can step and fetch for the sick bastards.

All you have to do is tell them that you are not driving, but that you are traveling, then they can't give you a ticket. It's in the constitution.

Its Kind of like the Window Tint law. Its just a Money grab and an offense to initiate a stop. The most consistent BS reasoning and excuse behind tint laws are due to safety and viability while driving at night. I didnt know police has special, Lengthy, training to make them more able to not have this affect them like us normal folk. Again Its a money grab just like getting a ticket for 76 in a 75zone. Its bs but just call it that. Dont lecture us on how this or that but have the same on your end

You are spot on. The fix is to offer a tag for those willing to pay the payola up front that also comes with assurance that they won't frick with you over petty shite. Written down petty shite. It would make their jobs as tax collectors much easier and decent folks wouldn't be forced to step and fetch for their entertainment. I'd gladly pay another $1000 a year for a tag that prevented the money grabbing scum from giving me a ticket and I ain't had one in 12 years....

This is the way I see it...

you work at a restaurant? you get free or discounted food
you work at a clothing store? you get a discount on clothing
you work as a cop? you can have illegal tint or an expired inspection sticker and get away with it

There's perks to every job. Want to not worry about window tint or inspection stickers? Go put your life on the line every day and be a cop. They are already underpaid so let them have a few extra perks.

Shoulda called it a brake tag brah.

Honest question from someone not from LA: I always thought a brake tag was a separate NOLA or Orleans inspection separate from a state inspection. Are they actually the same thing?

Kinda like how the cop that will turn on his lights to get through a red light and then turn them off immediately afterward or will go speeding by you on the roadway, but when he pulls you over for the same offenses he proceeds to lecture you on how reckless your behavior was and how it endangers lives. Hypocrites.

I asked this question at work a few weeks ago. Does it piss you off more when a cop speeds past you or when you get stuck behind one that for some reason isn't speeding?
