Several years ago, I was pulled over by a city cop in Virginia for having an expired inspection sticker. (They were color-coded and easy to spot.) I had what I thought was a good excuse, but he wrote me a ticket anyway. While he was in his car, I could see in the mirror that his patrol car had an expired sticker. After he handed me the ticket, I said, "By the way, your inspection sticker is expired." He looked at it, swore a little, and took the ticket back.

You’re the nazi because you’re working your car to death without knowing if it’s healthy by getting an inspection sticker

First, my car is 3 months old, so I think it's just fine.
Second, other than blinkers, lights, windshield wipers and a horn, they check nothing else, so I don't think they are keeping my car "healthy" in any way.
Third, I think you qualify for Idiot poster of the year....what a total moron.

I would challenge the ticket in court saying if this officer can’t even pay attention to his own inspection sticker how can he be trusted to pay attention to the important details when stopping a person for a supposively law violation.

LSP orders everyone out the vehicle

Since when? I've been pulled over by LSP three times in the last 10 years and I've never been ordered out of the vehicle.

So which is it? They're either mandated to order everyone out or not.

It’s probably because your vehicle probably didn’t smell of marijuana like op’s did

Why were you out of the car ?

State police get you out of the car and have you stand in front of their car. So I've been told.

False. Louisiana State Police order the driver out of the vehicle on every stop. My cousin is a retired trooper. Either the guy is lying or they stopped him to tell him his brake light was out or something.

I bet Buford T Justice could not get his car to pass a safety inspection.

Its not "his" responsibility

It sure is his responsibility!

It is the driver’s responsibility to make certain their vehicle is maintained to its registered state’s standards, registered, insured, and up to date on its inspection sticker.

Operating a government owned vehicle does not exempt any driver from these responsibilities..
