That would be the absolute opposite thing to do with a clearance issue.
The 6.2 used to be an awesome engine and was unequaled in its class for power, economy, and reliability.

Outside of the Corvette, I don't think current GM has anything that you can really say is better than its competitors.

anyone got cliffs?
We have a 2024 Escalde w/ the 6.2. Only 35k miles but no issues, haven't brought it in for "resolution" yet. Seems like the "fix" isn't worth it since I'm under warranty still?

We have a 22 Yukon XL with the 6.2 the fix is they change the oil to 40w synthetic. It's Corvette supercar oil. It's literally an oil change and they swap out the cap on the oil fill to reflect the oil.
Better be doing your own oil changes, I wouldn't trust 99% of shops to put the correct oil in it.

The 3.0L diesel is something unique to others I think. Don't know of any others offering a diesel in a 1500 series. Great mileage.

Government regulations have destroyed the American V8! The same regulations have also made vehicles way too expensive.

Ticking time bomb. People get the diesel and think the mileage is great but forget it has all the after treatment stuff the big diesels have.
For the large majority of people that will do a lot of around town driving, stop and go traffic, idling, etc. The diesel is a horrible option. You'll end up with a clogged DPF and emissions related issues. That is if you keep the emissions system intact.

The problem is fricking variable displacement oil pumps, driven by rediculous CAFE efficiency standards. You can point almost all major engine issues we have now back to variable displacement oil pumps. frick I hate them.

I'll be in the market for a half ton truck in the next year. Need it to pull a 25' bay boat two hours to my camp as well as loaded up with duck hunting gear in the winter. Was leaning towards the V8 AT4 until seeing this. Ford only offers a V6. Thoughts?

Agree, the most reliable drivetrains are in the HD trucks.

My brother in law had his seize up without warning earlier this year. I implored him to demand the dealer install a 5.3 replacement instead of the 6.2. He didn't even ask. His tahoe sat in the shop waiting for an engine as they drove around in a rental for 12 weeks. I'm sure this will happen again very soon.

The 5.5 LT6 is great. All the manufacturers have engine issues. The 5.2 in my Raptor R blew at 20k miles.

I have that. Engine is great. Rear differential blew out this past winter. 85K miles. It also has the 10 speed transmission pre 2022 when they made the changes to the drum lip. My fingers are crossed bec i really love the truck but that transmission costs ~$8K to replace (if you get one of the newer, corrected ones).
