It’s like the glory days for car dealers. New and used prices are at all time highs, then you’re almost forced to add on thousands in warranties because it’s not a question of if, but when something major goes out.

My office mate just had her ‘23 Yukon XL roll over 100,000 and on her way home last week, all the dash lights came on and the car practically shut off. She got it to the shop and is waiting on a diagnosis. The code is a cylinder 6 misfire, which could be anywhere from a few hundred to a $10,000 repair.

Hers is not a 6.2L I don’t thing, but it’s still a $70,000 truck that shouldn’t be costing that much in repairs after 4 years and 100,000 miles

Dude went on 10 minutes talking about engine failure, but not explaining why they're failing...

Still crazy why GM is using such a lightweight oil...

Has the cause been positively determined? Angled Oil holes in the crankshaft?

You can 100% thank govt regs for this. Regs on efficiency and sales. The market has not been anywhere close to free for decades and this is the culmination of that. Cars are a snapshot of what socialism will bring us everywhere else.

Coworker had one blow a few months ago. Got it replaced under warranty, then the warranty engine blew.

No, which is why the recall has been expanded and there is now an investigation because GM told them they had a fix, which is now failing on vehicles with the fix.
