The 5.0 is a great engine... With too many Chinese electronics all around it. And the transmission is dog shite.
I do NOT want to have to warranty anything. I don't want to make a single non maintenance repair for 200k miles. No current truck offers that reliability.

My truck did the same thing at 105000 miles. It was a $50 coil pack that is plug and play. People need to get themselves a OBD2 (even a cheap one) it could possibly save you thousands. Quit bringing your vehicle to a dealership to tell you what the problem is.

But Im not hauling around 2+ kids, a wife, and a dog regularly.
I'll put a short list together for them, depending on their price point, needs, etc., and always look at IIHS ratings.
I guess AI can do all that now.

How many Tundra failures? From what I understand. It’s not many. Still…not what you want to hear from Toyotas. I would like to have a new Tundra, but waiting patiently.

You could rely on Dodge being the worst, then Chevy/ford being a good bit better, then Toyota for real quality.

I've yet to find an engine that didn't produce less wear metals on 0w40 as opposed to whatever was specced.
My truck specs 0w20, got that for the first 130k, got 0w40 for the last 100k miles.
Previous truck specced 5w30, got that for the first 120k, got 0w40 until 360k.

I’ve had zero problems out of my 6.6 liter L8T. It has plenty of power and none of the DOD/AFM crap. Only down side is MPG but it’s a 2500. Had it almost 3 years now and not a single engine issue.
