If it makes you feel any better, I said "frick that" back then as well.

Doesn’t make me feel any which way, as you’ll know once you’ve read the entire thread

nuclear is the only thing that answers all the questions about availability and sustainability. that industry needs innovation, particularly with regard to fuel and spent fuel

The positive is AI is shovelling money at the problem.

My wife and I were talking about AI power consumption earlier today and we got into how porn has driven so many sectors. She made a note that AI will allow guys to make a Pornhub video of their babysitter and them with just a couple of pictures. My mentioning my college yearbooks and a scanner resulted in a not completely pulled punch to the shoulder.

This is a short re AI power and the amount of power for a short video is rather telling.

If this idiot had half a brain, he would just pass a bill asking for several more nuclear power plants. Free energy and emission free! At least the TVA is smart.

Utilities will do anything to avoid investing their guaranteed rate of return into more reliable power generation.

With that said, people should be controlled somewhat. When it’s 100 degrees outside, 76-78 degrees should be plenty with a fan going. People don’t need their ACs to be on 65-70

Really? Why don't we drag this corpse a little bit further... What about later, when "they" decide 85 degrees is sufficient?

Once the ball is rolling downhill, it doesn't stop till it crashes. When you cede control of your life to others, you lose control.

Seeing more and more storage systems to divert usage to off peak hours. Like the tesla megapack battery storage system, or ice storage systems or even large tanks to store chilled water made at night.

I’d love to have one of those Tesla roofs with a storage battery……. I am absolutely not paying what it costs.

I guess I can write Bill Gates, Leonardo DeCaprio, or one of those climate alarmist groups for a grant.

And people really think EV's are the future... we can't even run our HVACs without causing issues to the grid... lets add 150 million EV chargers

This is 100% happening so data centers don't have to throttle and for no other reason

EVs aren't even a consideration at this point

I wonder if OH is getting any AI data centers...sounds like a bill funded by the AI lobby to make sure their data centers stay up and running at all times

Data centers have complete generator backup power. They make a fortune when peak demand strains the utility, because the utility asks them to run their generators and pays through the nose for it.
