Atleast some of the increases aren't justified imo. I don't indulge in soft drinks anymore due to health reasons but I bought some recently for my nephews birthday party. No way that carbonated sugar water should cost $8 for a 12pack.

Just got an email from Ring their per camera price is increasing from $40 per year to $50 per year. In July of ‘22 they raised the price from $30 to $40. That’s a 67% pricing increase in less than a 2-year period.

but do you really need it?

I'm very hesitant when it comes to subscription based services. There are enough security camera products that have storage devices that you can record long chunks of time on before having to roll off footage. In all likelihood, you'd notice if your house had been broken into or tampered with within the 30 day recording window a couple of terabyte storage gives you. It's more money up front but it's yours and you never have to pay another dime for their service. And a lot of them have free apps to view from your phone.

It is truly astonishing how expensive it is to feed my family right now.

My wife just went back to work last October, together we make damn good money, over 200k household. We're still playing catch up from her staying home and being single income.

The 400 a week grocery bills are brutal, every item you touch at the grocery store is 5 bucks it feels like.

Yeah, our grocery bill is easily 50% higher than it was a few years ago. It's our 2nd largest bill behind our mortgage at this point and there are only 3 of us now.

he sure as hell didn't make it better but with the out of control spending the last 20 or 30 years this was inevitable. The blame isn't on any one guy.

When Trump left office in Jan ‘21, inflation was 1.3%. And that was even after all the Covid chaos and the govt being shut down for 3-4 months.

It’s not bc it’s a “global thing” or covid it’s bc of piss poor leadership from the progressive left. And this is what they want. The collapse of our capitalist system so they can install a socialist utopia.

Eric, I had the same idea. Got ADT out for only (3) hard wired cameras. They wanted >$3K. That’s right, more than $1K per camera. And, to top it off, that’s the price with ME supplying the CAT 5 cable and ME paying someone to pull it.

Needless to say, I told them to kick rocks. Ended up putting in Arlo battery operated cameras for less than $400. No issues.

This was always the problem with "on demand" cameras.

No it wasn't. My reolink security cameras record to an NVR and instantly send me push notifications without any subscription.

the one pass i will give her is look at how bad the administration is...she almost has no outs other than to tell Doocy she isn't going down the rabbit hole when asked about Biden's mental state when he asked about his comments about speaking to a president from france that died almost 30 yrs ago. But she is absolutely terrible.

You live in Florida, a state historically hit by hurricanes year over year, and you're upset with Joe Biden that your insurance rates went up? Buddy, do you know how insurance works?

Yeah, it hurts.

We do everything right too. We buy in bulk when we can, we buy generics when we can, we do "cheaper" single pot meals often for us and the kids, eat whatever we have and don't waste, etc.

And while we are fine financially, it still bothers the shite out of me how doing everything as cheap as possible is still outrageously expensive. Our food budget has double in 2 years while eating the same amount of food.

Once a week we get donuts on Sunday mornings. A half dozen went from $5 to $7.50 from one weekend to the next recently.

Not complaining about the $2.50 but just driving the OPs point home.

All I see on here is a bunch of fatties complaining about the price of fast food and 12 packs of soft drinks. Did it ever occur to you to stop eating and drinking that poison? If it’s too expensive then stop buying it. You will save money (and your health)

And this is the corollary to the OT moderates who didn’t vote for biden or hillary.
