Every generation through history has had the same concerns and complaints.

Nothing you said is wrong and I agree we are headed off a societal cliff….

HOWEVER…
Keep things in perspective!

You’re probably:

not sleeping on straw in a hut eating bugs…

not worried about a marauding hoard of Visigoths coming over a hill to rape your cattle & steal your wife

not subject to Vlad the Impaler or similar leaders (unless you’re suffering from TDS)

Haven’t had to wake up and wonder if you’d be able to hunt or grow enough so your family won’t starve

Don’t have to piss in a pot & throw it out the window

Don’t have to watch your neighbors and friends all die of yellow fever, bubonic plague, smallpox, Spanish flu, etc…

Aren’t worried about real Nazis coming to steal your business and home then load your family into a cattle car to be “resettled.”

You get the point….

Generations before us all had their struggles and even though we are definitely headed in a BAD direction as a society, you should only worry about what you can control. Your attitude, how you treat people, how you love and guide your family, your faith in God, what YOU contribute to the world.

Spend more time outside, GET OFF THE INTERNET. We all love it, but it can definitely bring you down. It is truly an addiction if not controlled.

I long for the past as well and thank God for being born when I was, but you can’t dwell on it.

Overall, we have it pretty damn good for the most part. I hope our kids can say the same in 50 years, but what we do in our little piece of the world is all we can do to make that happen.

Boston was the absolute worst for terrible drivers.

Worst part up there is that it is considered normal to drive on the shoulder at highway speeds.
Make sure you look over your right shoulder when exiting the interstate…
Anybody know what he actually did other than being an a$$hole media whore?

The Monroe lawyer who got caught by his kid getting butt pirated by the chef was a good one.

Not to be confused with the two male lawyers in prestigious Lake Charles firm (both married to women) who were busted by the cleaning crew banging on a conference table. Became quite the talk of the CM Tower & LC society back in the 90’s…
I wonder if they have “under car” sensors?
If not, it’ll be fun to ride around Lakeview and watch the chassis parts get hung up on protruding manholes….
I’ll preface this by saying that I thinkUBI is a horrible thing and we’re headed in a very dark direction overall.

I do think Elon is probably right to some extent about what could happen physically.
However, If we don’t control technology, it will control us. Utopian vision of UBI and robots doing almost all the work is probably physically possible, but it does not take into account human nature, which can be horrible.
Even if productivity by robots went so exponential that UBI could be somehow funded, human nature would never allow the masses to just be good citizens and garden, be artists and enjoy life in a productive manner.
Similar to a spoiled child that has never had to work for anything, mankind would devolve into chaos, complete social deviancy, and ultimately destroy whatever Good was going on.
It would be LBJ‘s great society failure on steroids!

Not sure what happened to Verizon, but they went from being the premium provider to absolute CRAP.
Can’t even keep a call on I-10 in NOLA or the Causeway, let alone in the boonies….
Contract on “new improved” I-Phone has a year to go then I’m DONE.

Awesome!
I wonder what’s the best way to solar power the remote portion?

5-7 acre WiFi & camera design

Posted by Klondikekajun on 11/18/25 at 2:25 am
Building new house on acreage and looking for technology solutions.
Cell service is weak and need a wi-fi solution anyway so thinking about some sort of mesh or access point exterior solution.
What’s a good plan to get as much coverage around the property as possible including possible remote solar WiFi cameras to tie into home security.
Thoughts?
Did it a few years ago.
Above suggestions are dead on…..

Be warned- These things are STUPID HEAVY though & watch the dimensions for clearances and how it fits on trailer…

The question is will we be able to re-shore manufacturing in time, as this is one of our potentially fatal weaknesses

The greatest vunerability is the 40% of the country that is pulling for the Marxist agenda.
It's hard to win when your internal enemies have seats of power in Congress and throughout the judiciary.

The V-6 would run forever. Not sure about the v-8…

SKYNET T-1000 has finally arrived.
Let the fun begin.
Verizon in general has gone from top in the industry to absolutely the worst.
