Now do their gross profit.
18% growth in gross profit for Kroger 2019 to 2023.
29% growth in gross profit for Albertsons 2019 to 2023

Pretty much. Just restocking cleaning supplies and toiletries at Walmart is expensive now. Clothes detergent there was higher than at Winn Dixie. I hit $150 there with what I just mentioned and hardly any food as I prefer a regular grocery over Walmart for food. If I buy real food at Winn Dixie I can hit $150 easy using their specials. If I’m careful it will mostly last 2 weeks. I avoid boxed garbage if I can.

Folks are still spending money left and right. We toured the East Cost in June, every restaurant full, every train ride full, every plane full, every attraction full.
Even in broke _ss MS, there are lines in just about restaurant and new ones opening every day.
As long as folks keep spending money like a sailor on shore leave, prices will keep increasing.
I was under the impression it was a button they were pressing in the White House.

quote:I think this is the case. Customers are just fatigued with all the increases, most not explained. Hell, I put together a comparison of pricing that we pay for our expenses where I showed our costs of doing business. I would not share it with everyone probably, but a couple of our customers were curious so I sent it to them. They were shocked. Maybe a terrible business practice and I know it sounds hokey, but I have always tried to treat customers like friends and friends communicate openly.
I would hope most people understand it, but also some people are probably feeling these increases more than others.

quote:Our agent has done a pretty good job keeping or increases pretty reasonable, we have 8 box trucks and a couple other vehicles, and have had one claim in 6 years.
Small business owner here also, 24 full time employees. Yesterday Liberty Mutual sent over my 2024 renewal for my business policy and they want $114K in 2024. My policy last year was $60K, same coverage.
We’re shopping it of course but my agent says we MAY find it cheaper but to still expect a pretty big increase vs 2023. ????
Can’t keep our prices the same with that kind of stuff. Vendors squeezing our margins and cost of financing is high.
Our policy has risen about 25k, but probably had alot to do with one of my guys deciding to run off a bridge and park a 26 foot box truck about 50 yards into a woodlot.

But I am sure they have had increases in labor, insurance, and shipping to name a few. It hits everyone.

You just keep putting idiots like Trump in the WH and you (and I) will keep getting idiots like Biden. You mofos will never learn will you?

So long as people are buying, they will see no reason to lower prices. You say "damn" and you curse the the increase in price, but then you turn around and fork over the money anyway.
Corporations say you are welcome...and you say "thank you sir, may I please have another"

Texas and LA have ranked 28th& 29th in the nation regarding tax burden each of the last two years.
New York is first and Alaska is 50th.

Which means LA is easily worse than texas on this front when you factor in the “hidden taxes” that come in the form of much much higher homeowners and auto insurance.
I pay 2k per year for homeowners. Would be 12-15k easily in south Louisiana.

Went to Walmart the other day.. I go there to get toiletries and some other things. It usually between 30 and 50 bucks.. This last time it was 70 bucks. Walmart's prices have gone way up. Walmart's brand prices are just a few cents cheaper than name brand things...

the one pass i will give her is look at how bad the administration is
At that point, why even stay in that position?
She knows she will literally have to tell BLATANTLY OBVIOUS lies or ignore the questions completely.
In either case it's a bad look and she looks like a buffoon.

Obama didn't have a magic wand. I remember when the retarded seals clapped at that comment. Orange man comes in, puts us in the best economy we have seen in decades, then COVID hit. Perfect storm for the elites.
No one will be able to fix what has been done since 2020, which is exactly what DC wanted.
