I'm fighting some personal demons I've allowed to control my life and behavior for far to long. As some know at this point already by reading this post it is addiction. The worst part is what it is doing to my friends and family. I'm far to deep to just go cold turkey and suck up my punishment for being weak and believe me when I say, I know my weak arse deserves every bit of the pain and suffering I'm about to endure, especially considering the suffering my addiction has caused my friends and family, but It would likely cause serious bodily harm or possibly even kill me seeing as this has been an issue that started almost 21 years ago and has steadily gotten worse. I'm going to attempt to do this on my own since my insurance would offer little to no help if I go through an in patient rehab facility and to fund the treatment myself, out of pocket, is impossible at this time. I know the deck is stacked against me attempting this on my own but I'm just asking for some prayers from any of you have the desire or time to do so. I will discuss more about my addiction and update this thread in the coming days and weeks but for the next few days I'm going to have my hands full just starting this battle. Thanks and I'll update this thread ASAP.

Brother, I pray for you, and know that we love you, regardless of any OT antics.

If you are struggling with alcohol addiction, PLEASE do not go cold turkey without supervision. You might well die.

It's not a weakness man, it's a disease. Good luck, wouldn't be a bad idea to talk to a regular MD as others said. You can do it.

I will pray for you. Most important thing to remember is that you are valued by your family and friends. Never shy away from asking for support in any form. Worst thing you can do is convince yourself this world is barren of love for you. It is not. There is always a rung to grab onto.

Prayers!
You have to decide to be stronger than the things/thoughts that will try to draw you away.

A prayer has been said for you.

You can beat this. Millions of people have.
Depending on what the substance is and how hard and frequent you’ve been hitting it, DO NOT quit cold turkey on your own. I know several people that have died from this - even from just drinking alcohol. See a doctor, any doctor, and ask them for help.

Report back if you’re going to treatment, detox or neither and we’ll give you some pointers.

Best of luck.
You got this because God has your back.

Life is suffering and you are suffering tremendously . When it is self-inflicted, it is more difficult to deal with . But Redemption ( personal , spiritual etc ) is the most amazing thing . You can correct your errors and be the man you want to be. It’s possible, it’s achievable, people do it every day. You can heal yourself and eventually even be an inspiration to other people, somebody who can share your experience and help other people . You can do it man.

On your own, you will succeed for a short time.

Before that success ends, go find some AA meetings to help get a handle on what it will take to do this.

Go get that help. It’s why they are there.

Prayers sent for the long but proper road you’ve chosen.
