Ween yourself and put yourself into a situation where you have no option but not to use. Good luck and be kind and merciful to yourself. It’s a battle not a war and you’ll lose a fight or two, but keep trending upward. You’ve got many people who have fought this too.

You can do this. Enlist the help of a friend or family member if you can, especially if you’re going cold turkey. Someone suggested talking to your GP- that’s a good idea, might get some help getting into an inpatient. If not, go online and find a local AA. Prayers sent, and keep us posted, we’re pulling for you.

I will keep you in my prayers. Stay the course. It is not weak to ask for help when you need it. You can do this.

Prayer said. Good Luck and godspeed on this endeavor. I would try to get involved with some sort of group. Not sure of your church affiliation but I know there is a group called Celebrate Recovery where I fellowship (typically seen them meeting at non-denominational churches and Assemblies of God but I do not think they are denomination specific) which several of my friends are part of.
You will need a support system with people who can offer help and guidance from a place of knowledge and understanding. You'll probably need to rethink your friends, at least in terms of who you spend any time with, since it is likely there are a high percentage of non-recovering addicts in that group. And don't trade one addiction or bad habit for another. None of that will be easy.

Word of advice: figure out a way to get some help, because YOU cannot make yourself better by yourself.
Ask yourself this: how many of those 21 years have you known that what you were doing was harmful? How many times did your try to alter your behavior but failed? There's a reason that addictive behavior is nearly impossible to stop.
I wish you luck, I really do, but there are 12 Step programs that cost you NOTHING for just about any addiction you can name: alcohol, drugs, anger, porn, etc.
Find one to fit your problem and let the folks who have been there be there to help and support you. Even with that it won't be easy, but at least you are giving yourself a fighting chance.
Good luck. Sending prayers your way.

Prayers that you will submit to God's will for you that you be saved and accept the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. May God give you the strength and will through Him that you may be free from the bondage of all things that separate you from HIM. I get down and Thank God every day for taking away my chains that would bind me in this world.
I pray today that God will bring peace in your heart and mind and forever more through Him. Faith is the belief in things unseen. Allow the HOly Spirit to grow your faith and submit your will to HIS.
In Jesus name
We are to accept salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord to become a living testimony for God. I pray you might die to yourself and you own will to be what God has for you in this life and you will share in HIS glory forever more.
In Jesus name
from one addict to another
Much love

Prayers for you. Let some of those closest to you know what's going on and lean on them for support. Reach out to family or your pastor if you have one....your pastor likely has very good contacts to help you along. Have someone who will hold you accountable.

Though not addiction I can appreciate, best of wishes
Please, do not own another's depraved indifference, doesn't matter the role they have in your life

Been in your shoes. Almost ten years sober now.
You can do it! The hard part is admitting you have to make a change.
