Its just pandering.

Other cities have done something similar and they just turn around and create other departments or use state/federal police for what the old department would do.

Damn, something we can agree on. Alright GLT

I see no way that police departments are completely defunded. That would hurt the one's crying about it the most.

I’m impressed 19 percent admit they don’t know enough to give an informed opinion.

It's a terrible term. Only the real crazies think we could not have any police at all.

However, some departments could use a massive makeover, especially the ones that have become basically city-run military.

35% of people in favor or undecided on defending police departments.

Roughly the same percentage who don’t think the country would be better off if Nancy Pelosi was euthanized.

Yep. That aside, why is the popular response (or at least the media driven response) to a wrong is to lurch in the extreme opposite direction?

Case in point. For years there was discussion that glorifying extremely skinny runway models was wrong in that it created an unhealthy body image for girls to aspire. Certainly that is a reasonable premise. The response? Putting morbidly obese women on the cover of magazines and telling us that you can be beautiful at any weight. What?!!!! Being excessively thin can be very unhealthy. But the solution isn't to glorify a similar unhealthy body image...only in the extreme opposite direction!!!

We can say there needs to be efforts to curb excessive force by the police. But that doesn't mean the solution is get rid of police all together. Holy shite!!!

They only want to 'defund' the police so they can get free handouts from the govt, as if they aren't already. They think money will solve their deep-rooted cultural issues
