re: You need a dash camera - drdoct
I have mine right up around my rear view mirror. The cable just goes right into the head liner, nothing to do but kinda jam it in there. It goes over to the a-pillar and gets poked into that little part between the pillar and the windshield. Still very easy. Then I poked it where the dash is and...

re: Need help locating a new internet service - drdoct
Unfortunately, almost every area has 2 choices. ATT or your cable. ATT used to be horrible with dsl compared to fast cable. But now they are getting fiber more and more and becoming viable. Even google has slowed their deployment to a crawl due to the amount of graft involved with local govts....

re: You need a dash camera - drdoct
We're allowed 8 does and 2 antler deer. I've never limited out, but a season of 5 isn't rare for me. We probably need a longer season for a few yrs but they're thick as can be here. Normally I miss those that cross, but this one was determined to hit the side of my car. ...

re: Wall outlet/ moving it question - drdoct
If you go the 'knotch out the studs behind base board route, make sure you add in the little cover strips so you (or someone in the future) doesn't sink a screw in it. It's amazing how much wire you can fish from the cutout of an outlet. I'm a fan of wiring from the attic if you can get to the wal...

You need a dash camera - drdoct
Just sharing. If you don't have a dash camera you need one. It could be someone running a redlight and T-boning you, to wildlife or idiots. It's good to have documentation. Almost hit a Coyote today DURING THE DAY. [link=(https://youtu.be/3n3QG7rQAgQ)]Coyote Ugly[/link] Older is the deer th...

re: How many nega's will melt if we beat Miami? - drdoct
I have never, nor will I ever root for LSU to lose any game. That's not saying I believe we'll win them all or that I think 0 is anywhere near the caliber of coach this program deserves though. I swear, it's almost like some people have zero reasoning skills when it comes to being objective....

re: Suggestions for a hidden camera to help catch potentially stealing employee - drdoct
I think I'd probably just put a regular security camera in the store room. I'd put it in plain sight and not say a thing about it. If he's stealing, he'll know why you did it and probably won't say anything. If he's not stealing, then he probably won't care.
^^^^^^^ THIS ^^^^^^^ ...

re: Internet 600' away ubiquiti test - drdoct
You need to set up in bridge mode for one and access point for the other. I did everything pretty much by this video [link=(https://youtu.be/gR85hg55Dq0)]Nano M5 setup[/link] I had a problem when just hooking this up to my computer and putting in the local ip. Chrome freaked out on me and th...

Internet 600' away ubiquiti test - drdoct
My father built a house on the back side of the property about 600 feet away. Comcast wanted $2500 to install cable that far. Unfortunately, cell service is spotty so they have been living with 3g cell internet hotspots. Ubiquiti devices were brought up here last week and there was a lot of talk ...

re: Updated Cord Cutting Thread | Compilation of Set-ups posted in post after OP - drdoct
I have to test the servers for speed every few days because they seem to change a lot. Lately I've not had any buffering even on VOD which seemed to be the worst of the lot. No telling if you're counting on cell service for internet though. I know my verizon is VERY intermittent. reddit streams ...

re: Updated Cord Cutting Thread | Compilation of Set-ups posted in post after OP - drdoct
I'm not sure why. I don't use the app but stream right off their site with chrome. Well I used to. It got so bad that I resorted to reddit cfb streams (grandma) most of the time. The quality I'm experiencing with vaders now is on par with a premium cable or satellite. I'm pretty impressed with i...
If I cut the cord, and go to YouTube TV, does anyone know if my internet provider (xfinity) sign-in will work on the ESPN app through Apple TV?
Hopefully the youtube espn channel link is much better at streaming than the espn link. I was a sling subscriber trying to use the espn s...
Just watched a video the other day from Linus Tech Tips
It only took him like 3 mths and 20 attempts to finally get something though. And that was with a ubiquiti rep there. But it's honestly cheap enough/and worth it to try. I'm looking at doing the same thing myself and my b...

re: Cutting the cord... going with YouTube TV - drdoct
I prefer a regular computer with a wireless keyboard/trackpad. Because I have a hard time dealing with the click lag associated with most devices and I can do much more than watch movies with it....

re: Updated Cord Cutting Thread | Compilation of Set-ups posted in post after OP - drdoct
I pay $100 for comcast internet blast tier which is like 110 down. I had been using kodi addons to scrap for anything I wanted to watch for free. Just discovered Vaders streams which starts at $15/mth with discounts for more mths you buy in advance. It's been a lot better streaming their live tv ...

re: Does this PC build sound reasonable for non-gaming 4k? - drdoct
I would buy the cheapest motherboard that supports your processor chipset. I only say this because you aren't overclocking or putting any strain on it. Just check the ports offered to make sure it's acceptable to what you need. Meaning mostly the audio out part. Most of the time you won't even not...
