Got it on lower quad and knee area last year, kneeling down while squirrel hunting. Started oozing so bad that pants were sticking to my leg. Took my wife's maxi pads and taped them to the rash, that only held up for a couple of hours. Zpacks are the only thing that helps me.

Take a hot, hot shower to open the pores and then use a Q-tip to apply diluted bleach. For someone who is highly allergic (had it in my lungs from a fire), it works wonders.

Friend of mine had a bad case and the doc recommended 1/2 cup of bleach in his bath water.

This is also a good time to warn people about burning poison ivy, even the dried out stuff. Inhaling that smoke can cause real problems. A few years back a woman was burning brush and ended up in the hospital after breathing it in. Damn near killed her.

say one of the best feeling is a hot shower "scratching" your poison ivy for you. It feels amazing.

This is my favorite part about getting poison ivy. It's the only way to feel your body orgasm from non traditional sources. But then again, this is the OT. So maybe you guys know tricks I'm not familiar with.

Ha anyone mentioned semen? Bc I recommend semen. You want it straight from the dick too. It can be your own as long as it's fresh from the dick.

Definitely make sure you're not allergic to calamine lotion first. I got some poison ivy a year or two ago and LIBERALLY applied calamine lotion and made shite ten times worse. I think the only other time I used calamine in my life was when I had the chicken pox as a kid and I don't think it was a problem then . Anyway, ended up going to the doctor and he suggested I stop using the calamine and get a steroid shot and it cleared up in a couple days.

I have no idea how I got the poison ivy as I hadn't been walking around in thick brush or anything. I had been to a new year's eve bonfire a few days earlier, so all I can think is there was some thrown on the fire and the resulting smoke was laced with poison ivy... got it on my face and the shite even started to spread into my ear. Miserable as hell. Looked like the Hound from Game of Thrones

It has been several times here, but Technu is the best answer I've seen to this question.

I got poison ivy a couple of months ago. I got the steroid shot. Still itched insanely. I took two rounds of prednisone. All that whacked out my immune system. I developed bronchitis that had me thinking I might die. I spent my vacation in bed. I gained 15 ibs. Spent about a month in bed or near a bed. I just started feeling normal like two weeks ago. All because of that fricking weed.

Heat works for itch relief. Use hot water, start warm and slowly make it hotter until it gets to the limit of what you and stand, then keep it there for a minute or so. This will give you about 8 hours of itch relief, then do over. A hair dryer will work, but is easier to burn yourself. The last thing you want to do is create an open wound of any kind.

Hot water won't heal it, but it makes it bearable. Ignore all the wound creation methods.

Go get a week's supply of steroids in pill form from your doctor. I have a bad reaction to poison ivy, and the shot doesn't work as well, IMO.

First off, anytime you go in the woods, take a shower immediately when you get back and scrub really good. Wash those clothes separately from your other clothes too.

I've had success with Domeboro for little patches. It dries it out pretty quickly.
Technu works really good as well.

Sometimes when it's just too much, there's nothing you can do and have to get the shot.

If it's on your dick and balls, get the shot asap. I seem to get it on them all the time. Doctors don't usually like letting you get the shot if it's very minor. I've gone a few times where i have just a little on my arm or whatever but it's on my nuts and they'll tell me they don't want to give me the shot and i'm like, "i'm not scrubbing lotion or whatever all over my dick, and i can't keep walking around scratching my dick all day at work, so give me the damn shot.
