This time - Debromo (sp?) powder packets. mix with water, apply to skin with towel, let it soak.
Next time - Tecnu lotion. Best I've found for neutralizing the poison. Expensive but worth it.

Get a shot - per my pharmacist the pink stuff is the only non-prescription you can buy that works. The other stuff just masks the poison but doesn't dry it out

Probably shouldn't admit this, but.....
About 5 years ago, I was in the woods for a few hours and started getting itchy spots in various areas. There was poison ivy in that area so I assumed that's what was causing the itching. I took some of the recommended poison ivy ointments and it got worse. I found out later that my initial itchiness was due to my body's natural reaction to other allergens and the poison ivy ointment made it much worse.

I'm gonna tell you a way that works but it hurts quite a bit.
If you aren't a vagina, it will clear it up in no time.
Take a wash cloth and get it soapy. Scrub the location so it all opens up.
Then rub mineral spirits on it. It dry up within a day.
Just to warn you, the mineral spirits is quite uncomfortable but it will work really really fast

anyone have any tricks to reduce the amount of time i look like a human pizza?
I've seen people doo an intense deep scrub which gets the oils or whatever completely off.
It isn't easy but supposedly it works

Is there a part of the story where you blew a guy in the woods or something?

If it is extensive get steroid shot or steroid pills.
Don't get Medrol dose pack. The dose tapers down too fast, making it a good chance it will flare up again at the end of the treatment.

Take a hot, hot shower to open the pores and then use a Q-tip to apply diluted bleach. For someone who is highly allergic (had it in my lungs from a fire), it works wonders.

Rub some bacon on it while having drunk sex.

Domeboro works better than anything I've found.

I heartily second the zanfel recommendation. I took a wilderness first responder course and we deliberately ran through a big patch of poison ivy in shorts after putting this stuff on. Later that day a couple of thin red strips showed where I'd missed coverage, so I put on more where it was red. It went away probably an hour or two after that.
That said, if you're one of those people who are seriously allergic you'll still need a doc.

I had poison ivy really bad once. When it was weeping on my legs and itching unfathomably, I turned the shower up really hot and turned the shower head to shoot out a hard, straight line of water onto my leg.
I damn near fainted from the sheer euphoria I was getting. It was arguably better than an orgasm.

Tecnu.
Read the instructions on the bottle, it's not magic or anything, it doesn't stop the itching, but it removes the oils. It's the only thing I've found that can even kind of prevent a massive break out.
Source: Am crazy allergic to poison ivy. Like, hospitalized allergic.
