If you've been exposed first thing is a cold shower.

TecNu extreme lotion. It's $16 at most pharmacies, but almost as good as a shot

A 3rd MASSIVE recommendation for this stuff. I got some of the worse poison ivy you'd ever see awhile back and Zanfel was a life saver.

Im pretty allergic to the stuff and this has worked for me time and time again to keep the itching at bay:

Take the hottest shower that you can stand and let the hot water run on the infected areas

it open the pours, and alot of the oil seeps out and it numbs the area for a while, sometimes its the only way to sleep if the itching is really bad

I'm not going through and reading 3 pages of posts to see what's already been posted.

Depending on how bad it is, get a shot. If you can live with it itching a little longer, get a rag and Dawn and wash the hell out of all the affected areas. Once dry, apply apple cider vinegar to all the areas. Paper bag or soaked paper towels.

I used one of the one of those green and yellow kitchen sponges and Dawn once I got a rash. Scrubbed too hard and took the skin off. Then applied apple cider vinegar. Burned like a mother fricker, but it worked. I don't recommend taking the skin off. You can likely get the same results without being stupid like I was.

Steroid shot is magic. It took care of it quickly, and I had endless energy and stamina.

Get a shot

Get a steroid pack

Cover the spots up with bandages so it doesn't spread and you can't scratch them.

Scratch the shite out of it & go swimming in the Gulf or a chlorine pool.

That's it, I'm going to find a patch of poison ivy and roll around in it.

One time when I was young, I used a makeshift toilet at our outdoors hangout. We didn't have toilet paper though, so I found a nice luscious leaf to wipe with. It was poison ivy. I intentionally and aggressively scrubbed my anus with poison ivy.

Don't touch it or rub it on anything for one week. Sounds stupid, but leave it alone if it has sprung up already. The reaction you may get from all of these suggestions could be so wrong.

Best advice for the future. Whenever you even think you may have contracted it, or even chiggers, which also stink on ice, take a cold shower immediately. Old farmer woman told me this years ago and it works. Closes the pores, then you can wash it off. Cold water first, then lightly scrub skin in cold water. Simple as that.

At your stage, best thing is leave it alone and don't touch it. Battle of will my friend for one week. If you last, it doesn't spread and it goes away.

Get rid of the clothes you were wearing, too, where it first broke out. Pants, or shirt... Not worth getting it again because you can.

You're welcome.

Steroids. And aveeno oatmeal bath to relieve the itching for a moment. I'm super allergic to poison ivy, oak, and sumac.

If it hasn't been already said as long as the oil is gone all you can do is mitigate the itching and/or steroids.
