It seems as if I will have a job offer there and I know little to nothing about the area.

Essentially, the job is in San Leandro on the east side of the bay. I would be staying on the east side for obvious reasons. Live in Oakland? Alameda island? Ferry into SF on weekends for leisure time? Any information will be helpful and will assist me with the decision.

I have done some research but am curious about opinions and recommendations here. Any prior threads that I should know about?

Beautiful landscape. Ruined by liberals and hippies, and people taking a crap on the streets. Enjoy.

Once you get the job, write an email to your boss complaining about your pay and how little you eat due to your poor wages. Also, post it online for feedback.

It is gorgeous out there. One of the most beautiful places in the world but it is horribly expensive. Oakland is basically a shipping port town. Take real estate taxes into account too, even Tiger Woods moved away from Cali due to taxes.

Would be a nice place if all of its current residents left (or died).

I took this all into account when salary was spoken about, so I'm not worried about the price of living.

Live in the city. frick it, hopefully you're young and accustomed to being broke. If not...I'm no help. I loved living in the city after LSU, one of the best experiences in my life.

Very nice. Just be prepared for a much higher cost of living.

I was offered a high paying blue collar job in the Bay Area but rejected it instantly on account of the gays, heathens, racial diversity, LIBTARDS and DEMONRATS who INFEST the area. Not to mention it's not nearly as pretty as my hometown Pineville (lacks the thick greenery).

Moreover, no way would I raise my young son Noah in a place like/near San FranSICKO.

Congrats on the offer. Overall the area is amazing. There is a reason why the cost of living is so high and it's the vast number of different things to do. Coming from San Leandro, you have a lot of options. The East Bay will generally be cheaper than the Penisula and SF. Overall it depends on your budget and how far you are willing to commute. You could easily live in Walnut Creek, Oakland, Union City, Freemont. All of those areas have the Bart which can take you into SF and Oakland on the weekends. Most of the cities in the bay suck for nightlife outside of SF, Berkeley, and Oakland but depending on how much you need the small communities should help.

Feel free to ask anything else. Been living out here for 9 years now and love it.

Plus libtards, Californians, high taxes, limited reasonable home prices, earthquakes, and wildfires.
