I'd look in Mid City, Capital Heights, Old Goodwood, Southdowns,Garden District if I didn't have kids. Zachary or Central if I did.

All good options. It really depends on OP's price point.

Thats the thing. Who cares about the traffic going out to Prairieville or Denham if you live, work and play in the same areas....

3rd through 5th. Any farther than that and your commute will be over 45 minutes.

Everyone come look! It's someone who doesn't know what they are talking about!

Agree. I like Southdowns & the Garden District, but it can be painful to pay $300k for a 1200 sf house that will need work in a shite school district in BR. It’s hard to give suggestions without a general price range.

Haha I could actually do Iberville or WBR but I doubt I could sell the lady on those. She needs to be a little closer to civilization
Love WBR. It's not like Baton Rouge is New York City.

Want to live in Plaquemine? I might be willing to sell my house by that time.

Zachary, Central, Watson, Denham Springs, or Walker.

So a more safe bet would be Central or Zachary huh? Does Zachary have things to do?

What to you consider that to mean? There's some restaurants. But if you're young and someone who ventures out for drinks each week, you better be prepared for a $40 Uber fare each way. Believe me, you don't want to drink and drive in BR and you really shouldn't be doing it anyway.

A Bell 407 has a top speed of around 140 knots:

Roughly inside the Red Circle:

12 minutes from Zachary to downtown exit.

Decent selection of resuraunts, but you can get downtown/midcity so quick for entertainment.

My wife commutes from Zachary to Mid City and her commute is about 30 minutes. Getting back to Zachary after LSU football games is incredibly easy. Especially if you park around Dalrymple. Honestly it probably takes longer to walk from the stadium to the car than it takes to drive home.

35 minutes from the heart of downtown? Hmmm with regular traffic you could probably live a few blocks away.

While this may be true, you do have to factor in the time you're driving through Zachary and BR. Unless you live next to the on-ramp, you're probably spending 5-10 minutes going through Zachary. And if he means Mid City to be Government and Jefferson area, he's spending 5-10 minutes going down Government. Which that still fits his goals, so it is fine. I just get sick of my mom claiming she gets to work in 12 minutes every day when she lives 10-15 minutes from the interstate on ramp on the edge of Baker and Central.

We have a house in Bocage area down Brentwood. We love the area and would recommend it. No kids though unless you want to send them to private school. Not in the ST George map unfortunately if you care about that. We’re 10 min from downtown
