Might be in the market for a new place to live by the end of this year. Work would be in midcity. What would yall suggest looking into?

With or without traffic? 35 minutes in general is a very broad area.

3rd through 5th. Any farther than that and your commute will be over 45 minutes.

No kids. Just soon to be engaged. 35 mins without traffic and preferably 45 to an hour at most with traffic on a bad day.

price range would be helpful, but you can live in midcity and work in midcity

I'm guessing you're looking mid to high 200's. Personally I'd buy an older house in kenilworth and update over time how you like it.

I’m leaning Walker area because it seems somewhat quiet and that new Juban development is nice. Good or bad idea?

How’s St Francisville? Is it expensive? Zachary seems decent too

That's more than 35 minutes in the morning. You'd be better off in Zachary or Central going into midcity than Walker.

Depends on how much you like to sit in traffic or if your job allows you to go in early/late and leave early/late. You'll be going with traffic both directions for your commute and you'll hate life if you're commuting during normal commute times.

Don't know about places to live, but there are many places to die.

Grosse Tete. Outside of town.

There is nothing around. Property is reasonable. My commute in and out has traffic maybe 1-2x a month.

It's a quiet peaceful paradise.

I should add, when I was at my downtown office, my commute was 28 minutes for 32 miles most mornings.

So a more safe bet would be Central or Zachary huh? Does Zachary have things to do?

If you are planning on starting a family at some point and staying in the same house for a long time, Zachary has the best public schools in the state.
