My son just got engaged — he bought the ring locally and while he had an idea of what she liked from her Pinterest board, the store said that even though it was “semi custom” it was completely exchangeable if she didn’t like it.
I’d look for somewhere like that to work with.

I had her sister in on it. We went to cabelas and I told her sister I was gonna haggle over a gun with a guy and I wanted her to take my wife across the street to zales and give me an idea of what she wanted.
She fell in love with a ring and I bought it the next day.
It wasn’t apart of my plan but I bought the 30-06 too. frick it. I dropped 3 G’s on her might as well get something else cool

Do you know anything about the four Cs which are cut, color, clarity and carat. If you don't, you will pay more than you need to. How much is your budget?

Just bring her with you. I brought my wife (girlfriend at the time obviously), she picked out 3 or 4 different rings she liked, and once we left I got in contact with the jeweler and got him to design something that had all the features she liked in the ones she picked. She loved it.

Do either of y'alls family have any heirloom rings passed down?
